Personally, I blame the DKs for introducing a whole lot of mechanics that threw this game completely out of balance, at least more so than TBC. Paladins wouldn't be what they are if DKs had never been introduced. However, as to the topic at hand, the issue with pvp in WoW is figuring out the balance between burst per heals. It's honestly the heals that throw the game into this burst to the death fights, as lowering burst would certainly mean that if I had a healer, I'd proabably never lose, thus turnign the game back to BC, who can CC best, which isnt any better in the long run. Ideally the solution lies in reducing pvp healing by about 10-20% at all times, MS only working 20-30% on players and 50% on mobs. WIth a reduced healing, they could bring down the numbers players can put out, primarily with reslience. This really is the ideal solution to the system at hand.
However, the BEST solution is creating talent/skill effects that have x amount of damage on players vs x amount of damage on npc, allowing for fine tuning between two systems without one sticking its imbalanced junk in the proverbial pot of the other. Thus, this would reduce the complaining and headache on the part of WoW dev long term, because if one ability is out of whack, instead of having to tweak it and either screw pvp damage or pve balance, they could independently tweak them to bring them into line with one and other, without fear of QQ from PvErs or PvPers.

Wow ppl are still @#$%^ing about fear years after it stopped being any good? You want a cd on it? Ok hows this tradeoff: Give fear a cd to cast but make it harder to break it, ehh?
