I don't believe that. I believe that the RAS was founded to make an exteremly deadly weapon, but I doubt she ever seriously intended to use it on her allies.
I never said she would.
But I also don't think she plans on being allies with the Horde for too much longer, unless new circumstances arise.Well, until you can provide concrete evidence in favor of this opinion, that would just be speculation.
And just considering game mechanics, I would wager that the Forsaken will remain part of the Horde at least until Warcraft 4, if not longer.

The Forsaken being part of the Horde does not mean Sylvanas/the RAS will still be.
And my opinion was arrived at as a result of various tidbits I've read on the subject.Well, if you have any clear evidence, please, share! I'd hate to be missing a crucial bit of information. ;)

Right, time to clear up some evidence for discussion about the new plague:
The Forsaken's aim is to create a new plague that would annihilate the Scourge itself, and perhaps later their living enemies as well — and raise them to replenish and expand their own numbers. .. the Royal Apothecary Society is searching for a way to effectively spread their new plague, so that no living thing remains on the entire planet...leaving all of Azeroth as one big plagueland, ruled by the Forsaken. Sylvanas' initial plan is to wipe out her immediate enemies — the Scourge and then the Alliance, and raise them again to her cause.
It says it wishes to only destroy the Scourge and Alliance, but wishes for all of Azeroth to be a big plagueland ruled by the forsaken, which is quite contradictory.
I don't think we will know the Forsaken's motives yet for a while, at the very least Icecrown Citadel.

This one.
I just selected some bits which were relevant to the RAS' motives.

"Since the world at large refuses to accept them as people instead of undead, they will continue their dark designs to eliminate all non-Forsaken life forms on Azeroth."
You left out that key line in the article. An interesting statement, there.Ooh, nice find. :)

Well, the forsaken are using the horde for that goal, of killing everyone (prehaps sylvannas wants alliance/horde war...? thats just speculation though). much current lore suggests that the forsaken are intent on making a new strain of plague that kills everybody; see early brill quests and howling fjord alliance quests where u mess with the forsaken's plague things.
the forsaken are trying to seem good or loyal until their plan gets set in motion. in other words, the forsaken are evil, but also smart about it.Or at least some of them. I still don't think that very many of them are truly considering betraying the Horde. Perhaps early in Vanilla WoW (like the first 50 levels or so), but with as much as the Horde has supported and helped them, I cannot believe that they (in general) would betray them. Perhaps some of them have absolutely no positve feelings left, but I doubt that they are all completely devoid of gratitude.

Just because someone is grateful for help doesn't mean they won't still kill you.
Hell, if I had a big plan, that I put a lot of work into, to kill someone, then they saved my life, I'd still probably kill them.My point is that, overall, I think Blizzard is building up the Forsaken to be a redemption story, like the Orcs, breaking the stigma of evil undead, evil orcs, evil trolls, etc. I think they're portraying the undead as conflicted and bitter, much like the post-Second War orcs, unsure of what their overall goal is (beyond killing the Lich King). I think they are are going to go in the same direction as the more complex good direction, rather than the cliche "undead want to kill everyone" plot.

Except there's a really big difference between the Forsaken and the Orcs.
The Orcs had an excuse for being evil: demon mind control.
The Forsaken? They're just angry.
1. Undead Mind Control is just as bad as Demon Mind Control
2. I really doubt Blizzard is going to really play the "undead are evil" cliche very much farther. They've clearly shown good qualities is certain members of their faction, and just like evil Orcs, evil Trolls, and evil Goblins changed to be more complex, I would bet money that the Forsaken are following suit.
