I'm curious to see if anyone has any statistics on this.
This
for instance might be a good guide on what should and should not be legal.

They've tried banning people from using alcohol.. it didn't work. I personally drink alcohol and don't really see any reason to ban it again. It makes social settings a lot more fun and lightens the mood. The only thing that sucks is that people are stupid and go driving after consuming too much. That and aggressive drinkers are both sucky.
As long as you're responsible with it.. there's no harm done. Some forms of alcohol are actually healthy for you (i.e. Red Wine ).
They should try harder, or at least do the right thing and have faith in people, you can get healthy by a host of other things, no need to use alcohol.
And I obviously agree with the use of *anything* for medical reasons.

your joking right? legalizeing weed is one thing( im not claming to be an expert on this but from what i have heard pot is not as bad because all it will do is make you sleepy and eat all the food in tghe house. i consider it like alchohol such as you should not be doing certain things while smoking it.) but cocaine is another.

Banning alcohol will only cause more problems than having it legal. As akwey has pointed out already.
No, he only said that the same amount of people would drink, but people would view them as criminals, how is this worse?
You are misinformed, buzz, weed makes you do far worse than that...

Inhaler, I am QUITE surprised nobody has pointed out how ironic your name is for this discussion.
Anyways, I'd support the legalization of cannabis in particular; IIRC, it is a plant after all, and was originally planned to be an energy-booster, but they, accidentally, created cocaine. Further experiments with this to make it into the originally planned item would be a brilliant idea, as I see it.

Really? Your argument that it's a plant :D?
Those
are all plants too, so they are good for you? :D :P

Weed makes you do worse things than alcohol, is that what you're saying?
No, I am saying they both make you do bad things.

Are you sure that chart is accurate? Everything that I've seen has shown street meth as being the most dependant drug out of the common street ones.
Unfortunately no, I have no evidence to back that up besides my own assumptions. It makes you think, though, which is why I posted it—I'm curious to see if anyone DOES have any actual evidence.
Prohibition was a pretty generally agreed-upon failure. But then a lot of things have changed since then. Are we still the same country we were when Prohibition was initially enacted?
