What, you guys didn't reroll yet?
My warlock has retired from his class and is now a full-time cook. He's being much more useful and less frustrating now as a chef.
I'll ask a GM if they can give me a cooking talent tree instead of a warlock's. Obviously it will be much more useful. Well, maybe I can use the new conflagrate now to roast something for my (new) main, so the skill won't be completely useless.
/sigh

I don't understand where all the QQing is coming from!
I blow stuff to the
MOON
with my warlock, so all of you guys must be either doing something incredibly wrong, or you are just very stupid.

yeah, i think we probably still have a few remnants of the group that enjoyed playing a lock most in tBC when we had one button to push. bind every key to shadow bolt and face-roll was a viable strategy in most boss fights.
3.0 and wrath was a big shock to that group who suddenly found they had been terrible players all along, and that led to a general feeling that it must be warlocks and not the players that were broken.
well, blizz thinks they went a little too far in complicating the class and are bringing it back a bit. i liked the complicated rotations but if it got the facerollers to reroll then i suppose the change has successfully done it's most important job.

I still blame TBC for all the people who say warlocks are just facerollers. So many people still say all it takes is just a few buttons, not realizing how complicated we have become since WotLK.

Don't forget CoE to start off the fight! Bind CoE to something like ~ and then every other key to Shadowbolt... Yeah, those were the days =P
TBH most Warlock rotations aren't that difficult (especially with 3.1's "dumbed down" affliction). We have what? 4-5 buttons? FG/Ember only uses 5 keys (CoA, Corruption, Immo, Incin, SF), 40/31 had 5 buttons (CoD/CoE, Corruption, Immo, incin, Conflag), Affliction has 5 (Corruption, CoA, UA, Haunt, SB)... The most complex rotation is Deep Destro (CoD, Immo, Conflag, Incin, CB). Add in one more key (Life tap) for all specs and viola. Warlock PvE in 6 keys!
Less QQ, moar Pew Pew. We have MANY, MANY viable specs for PvE, and all of them are just as much of a faceroll to execute. I never though I would see the day when Deep Destro was the most complex rotation, but hey... Even pigs sprout wings and fly occasionally. Now that dual spec is out, nobody has ANY excuse as to why they can't spec a cookie cutter for serious raiding and a "for fun" spec for messing around/heroics.
I'll be honest; for PvE warlocks are an easy class. There is nothing more to it, get a DoT timer and you are set... We don't really rely on procs, we don't trust RNG to give us consistent numbers... Our Crit rating is usually low enough that crits are an added bonus as opposed to determining our DPS (unlike Boomkins where they RELY on critting to sustain DPS).
TL;DR
: For PvP we can always #$%^& and moan (every class can), but for PvE we just have to STFU and conform.
PS: This post is longer than I thought it would be. I'm incredibly caffeinated and the servers are down.

in well composed raids in tBC you would have one affliction lock providing the improved, 13%, CoE.
21/40s shouldn't have been casting it - i know i didn't.

But when you are the only warlock (or you have 2 21/40s) in your raid you don't have much a choice =P Kinda like having an FG/Ember put on CoE duty... Its annoying, but raids aren't always perfectly tailored.

so, time for a follow-up question:
do the most recent ptr changes to destro go too far?
the
most recent simcraft results
show destro in the lead - even beating aff+dg with ulduar gear.
the "with ulduar gear" bit is important and shouldn't be forgotten but, in fact, pre ulduar gear puts 2 destro builds (the two variations depending on suppression use) both right up there on a separate level with aff+dg, a temporarily uber setup.
clearly it's an amazingly difficult balancing act. destro was(/is on live) testing lower than other specs in simulations but it wasn't terrible by any means. we all felt that a boost was needed after the conflag nerf and blizz found an interesting way to buff deep destro without making builds like 0/40/31 overpowered.
but are the changes too much if they move destro right up on top?
do we think the ptr buffs will be scaled back before the patch goes live?

tsk! that was a very silly post.
lol, you actually mention the various utility that destro has but write it off. why is the imp's HP buff good for aff but not for destro, the spec that will
always
be using it?
deep destro does bring utility in the form of replenishment.
if the fact that other classes can also provide the buffs is your concern then elemental shamans can do DP, mages can do crit and SS is no longer a part of nemesis so that can go. no specs offer unique buffs. destro can provide some if needed so let's just pretend you didn't make that post and carry on the discussion.

Soulstone cd lowered by 1/3? Are you on crack? Where the hell do you see that?
that was part of the nemesis talent in beta. never made it live.
On topic though, I'd love for destro to come out on top; I was affliction for the most part, just started dabbling in demo for raid utility, and haven't touched destro yet, so would love the chance to put out max dps with it.
indeed. chances of getting triple spec before the next expansion? sadly, slim i'd say.
