...KH spin off?
It would be interesting.
Not sure how they could pull it off though.

Elder Scrolls would work really well but let's be honest,
any
fantasy game like it would work. For example, Fable could work just as well.
I still think we need some more options outside of the whole fantasy realm. EVE is still the only de facto space MMO. Something like Pokémon would definitely be a great start.
I even mentioned BattleTech and I think that would be the perfect franchise for a futuristic sci-fi MMO. Anyone who is familiar with the lore and gameplay of the various BattleTech games (MechWarrior, MechCommander, etc.) would instantly agree with me that its depth would be ideal grounds for a lot of players. BattleTech has all of the factions, races, technology, war, battlefield, space travel, air combat, space combat, gound combat, etc. that would be perfect.
I'm pretty sure any franchise in which your character is one of many (think a soldier in an army) and not someone unique (think the Jedi in SWG's rehash) would work.

I think the whole soldier in an army perspective is the opposite of what people want in a game. The reason WoW is so successful is that you're not just some grunt, you're the savior of the world... as long as every person is treated individually as a hero then its no big deal. The whole "if everyone is a hero no one is" doesn't really apply if an individual only sees himself referred to as a hero. The only real time WoW takes focus away from your own character is when zone-wide events reference someone else as the hero.

Self-delusion is an underrated approach to living.
