Heres something to add to your guide
Why 5% from blade barrier and 5% from frost presence isnt 10% reduction
Reductions are calculated by multiplying
1- (1- reductionA) * (1- reductionB) etc
so with both you get
0.95 * 0.95 = 9.75% less damage
I think lynri once asked me about 2% reduction + 3% + 5% how its less then 5% + 5%
0.98 * 0.97 * 0.95 = 9.69% less damage
Also the reduction if youre a frosty
0.98 * 0.95 * 0.95 = 11.55% less damage
Hell you can even add cooldowns
0.95 * 0.95 * 0.6 (40% ibf) = 45.85% less damage
Hell you can add armor to this too
0.35 (65% reduction) * 0.95 * 0.95 = 68.41% less damage
and if youre frost
0.35 (65% reduction) * 0.95 * 0.95 * 0.98 = 69.04% less damage
Armor and Cooldowns
0.6 * 0.95 * 0.95 * 0.35 = 81.04% less damage
Armor and Cooldowns and frost
0.6 * 0.95 * 0.95 * 0.35 * 0.98 = 81.42% less damage

Wait...
Talented Avoidance or Talented Mitigation
Talented Avoidance is addictive 5% dodge + 5% dodge = 10% dodge
Talented Mitigation is multiplied 5% damage reduced + 5% damage reduced = 9.75% damage reduced
The Saddest part of this, is the illusion that we take the least amount of damage from spells is a lie (not counting AMS), Warriors and Paladins take almost 16% less damage from spells, Unholy about as much but a tiny bit less, Druids then come in at 12% flat, then comes Frost slipping in a tiny bit superior then a Warrior/Paladin who is in defensive stance, but skipped their 6% MDR talent... then comes Blood, but I guess Blood doesnt care as much since they have the highest hp

Lynri, Can we please update the frost tanking rotations? PS is no longer viable for a frost tank as it steals a rune used for Obliterate.
Also take a look at my tanking build it's a variation of your build designed to maximise dps while tanking.

What do you think? I added the increased strength from Ravenous Dead and dumped the plus 5 in Bladed Armor. I figure the difference is about equal, and allowed me to get one point in Chill of the grave and pick up Death Chill. Now granted this spec works if you don't have an enhancement shaman if I did than I would take the 6 points used for imp Icy Talons.
Also any chance we could get tanking enchants posted?

Lynri,
Thanks it would be great to add the enchants took me about an hour to locate all the ones I will need for it. I am well aware that Icy Talons is optional. I believe I stated that I have it. I love it because in heroics and raids where I don't have an enhance shaman or frost dk dps (which you typically do not find since most dk's are blood or unholy). I will switch to 3 in bladed armor. I understand some people prefer PS for single target pulls, but it's generally frowned on in Frost tanking circles as an unnecessary waste of a rune, just as it is frowned upon while dpsing single target pulls in Frost DPS. However, from reading your writings and many frost dps Preferred and best are two entirely different things sometimes. If PS is a waste for Frost DPS than it's a waste for Frost tanks, as we use the exact same rotation except with Rune strike. Using PS is like using Death Coil for it's free occasional heal. Is it smart? I guess if you need the extra heal. Should it be recommended as standard in your rotation, well the answer is no.
If PS gives you less dps in Frost dps, than why would it be viable for Frost tank? I am not saying it's not a good tanking usage for Blood or Unholy, but for Frost it's completely unnecessary.
