If you're happy being right, that's fine. But if you choose being right and miserable other than being wrong and happy, then you're just an idiot, a wrong idiot most of all.
Eh, that's just the kind of person I am. I'd rather believe what seems true, no matter how depressing it is, rather than believe a lie I can feel happy about.
Then that makes you happy. You don't do it for the truth. You do it because the truth makes you happy.
Um, no. I frequently go through periods of depression because of what I believe. It doesn't make me happy, but I refuse to lie to myself just because the lie looks prettier...
Knowing the truth makes you happy.
People think "being happy" means having a smile on their face all of the time, when it doesn't. A happy person can go trough times of depression, and still be happy.
Anyways, back to the House thing. He's a logic genius. But a complete idiot at the same time.
As for my hero...I'd say...Einstein...he's a pretty awesome guy...or...Churchill...or Alexander the Great...or...Cesar...or Louis XIV...there are so many geniuses in history!

I'm arguing you're either happy (which I think you are) or really stupid.
Also: thanks Mudfish.

Happiness and Depression are mutually exclusive. The feeling of happiness is when the pleasure center of your brain is simulated. When you're depressed, the trigger fires less often or never, and so you don't feel happy even when you do things that should make you feel happy.
So unless you have some faulty wiring in your brain that's causing your pleasure center to go off when you feel pain (masochism), being in pain does NOT make you happy. I think you're confusing what you feel is morally right with what makes you happy. I'd feel that sacrificing myself for the safety of my family would be right, but that doesn't mean I'd feel happy about doing it.

If a person is depressed it does not necessarily mean she's an unhappy person. Sure, at that moment something happened that made her sad, but overall she is a happy person. Happy people get depressed sometimes, just as the contrary.

But if someone's beliefs make them depressed?
I mean, as far as me personally, I really don't feel happy very often.
If you were to gauge feelings on a scale, with euphoric on one end, numb in the middle, and suicidal, most people hover just on the happy side, occasionally dipping into unhappy. I, on the other hand, feel more like I'm right on numb most of the time, frequently dip into unhappy, and rarely move over to happy.
And on topic: Why do you think House is an idiot? I don't think he's an idiot. I think he has more perspective than his entire team combined, not to mention logical thinking.

Yes it does. Depression is the inability to be happy.

I'm not even gonna answer that.
The Wowhead community needs to learn how to debate.
