Feral DPS slightly OP?

well to try and stay to the true flavor of the post. Do i think druids are slightly OP, No because it is more a matter of changed game mechanics and play styles then basic Overpowering. DPS Druids base a large portion of their dps on high end bleeds. So taking this into consideration look at the kinda fights we are fighting now, highly mobile, with large HP pools. So now you get your SRed 5cp Rip off, mangle and a rake. Then the Mobs is on the move again while most melee classes are chasing, your dots are tearing the Mob apart. I know that in my guild on a stationary target like patchwork i am sig lower than our arms warrior and ret pally but on more mobile target such as Heagin i normally top the dps charts. Now yes there are druids out there putting out insane DPS (7200) but the average druids are not beatting most rogues, locks and other primary dps classes.

Absolutely, doing way more damage than we should.
I suspect a nerf to SR...

From what I can see and have read Ferals will not get a nerf. Our dps is where it's suppose to be. Rouges/Mages/Locs/Hunters will soon surpass us in DPS bc of the shear fact of scalibility. The Ulduar gear will outpass ferals by probably 20%. I've already noticed it. My guild is on Thorim 25 atm. In the last 2 weeks our rouge has got lucky and received 5 drops from UL25 already, including both weapons and a ring. I was #1 on DPS most fights, now he has surpassed me consistently. We run WWS, so I can actually go back and read through the fights and dps charts.
Conclusion: Ferals will stay where they at, but PURE dps classes will soon bypass them in dps, leaving them ahead of shammys and maybe pallis, but behind above mentioned classes and Arms wariors due to scaling.

Yes I am OP and yes I like stroking my epeen about it! Or the other raid members are really not on par with my astronomical skill level, hmmm...
6345 DPS
! Rip critically ticking for 10500, Ferocious Bites for almost 30000, 22000 critical Shreds on that exposed heart. Mrrrr...
And a non gimmick fight DPS report shows
5404 DPS
, 5374 critical Rip ticks. Roar! I mention that I also tanked Ignis for his last 300K HP, as our
noob
brave healers died and the
noob
hero MT died and ... Oh, man I am SO SKILLED! I am so

Damage done to xt002 2 weeks agoThat '2 weeks ago' is irrelevant, since my guild has just started ulduar 25 anyway, due to some issues. So the gear level was probably the same. And the difference of less than 100 DPS, in fact 1.2% more DPS. You have really put me to shame, omg...
not
. Use that tone if you REALLY have an edge. Not in the case of a small RNG based difference.
I could say the same about your DPS in the Assembly of Iron encounter. You did - according to that post - 4657 DPS. And approximately 2M total damage. I did
4946 DPS
, 2.81M total damage. So there you go. Almost 300 more DPS (which in this case is a 6.2% increase). I also managed to pull
7000 DPS
at Hodir, but that is another gimmick fight with all kinds of buffs. Or
6328 DPS
at Auriaya, where I did it on safe mode without moving around her and shredding, just nuking from the front and taking advantage of the swarms for properly times swipes.
I agree, many of the other DPS in my raid are sub par regarding skill. That can be seen especially on the Assembly screen shot. But then again, I am not comparing myself to them. I am comparing myself with myself. And I try to get better.
And you don't have to be sorry for anything O_o

Feral dps is high yes, but as far as gear scaling goes (as mentioned before hand) other classes should balance out.
A big issue with feral druid dps is the pure fact that its very difficult to maintain a high dps rotation. Due to the fact bosses often require movement, a feral druid has a much more difficult time to keep up there dps due to not being able to stay behind a target. As such a feral druids dps can sharply fall more then any other dps class due to that rather large disadvantage.
If feral druids receive a nerf ever, I have a feeling it won't be very large at all. If they nerf them in the wrong way the dps could be very sub par in boss fights that require movement, which is most fights out there now. The only way to really balance this out would be to mainly focus on lowering the overall output of shred in order to balance it out without turning feral dps to lack luster for bosses that lack the ability to be behind the target to much.

I see no reason that feral cats cant top the charts, so long as they know how to play their class.Because of the current Blizzard hybrid philosophy, a good "pure" should be better than a good "hybrid", wether we like it or not or feel it's justified or not.
I'm not going to complain if feral dps does not get nerfed (even though i'm not feral), I'm not PvPing so any class in our raid doing better dps is a buff to the global performance. Still, i don't expect it to last (wether it's through nerf, scaling problems or whatever).

Cats can now do
fine
dps even with the simple Mangle, Rake, SR/Rip Rotation, even really good dps by using all options (
example
)
But if you get totally out-dpsed by a cat in similar-iLvl gear, you're doing something wrong, clearly, it doesn't mean that cats are OP, but that you suck :) I hope this competition helps the "pure dps" classes to work on their skill again, instead of just mindlessly pressing buttons.
And don't forget cats' scaling/itemization* issues, as already seen in BC endgame: Even if a cat does better dps than you with both of you in T7-level BiS, expect this to change in T8 BiS or at least T9.
* Agi Leather is mostly itemized for rogues, and we can already see some Ulduar staves/polearms being itemized primarily for hunters.

Agi Leather is mostly itemized for rogues, and we can already see some Ulduar staves/polearms being itemized primarily for hunters.Ok so... what is that supposed to mean or prove? Pussy cats mainly use the same stats (probably the only exception is haste, which is not such a valuable stat for feral druids). The fact that people like you still talk in terms of 'itemized for hunters' or 'itemized for rogues' shows that you know little about the DPS oriented feral druid class.
If you explain what you meant by that phrase, maybe we can get a clearer view.
And I wouldn't so much expect to see feral DPS drop once everyone is geared in T8. Those set bonuses are pretty powerful, and with all the ArP present on gear, ferals will still be one of the strongest DPS classes out there.

58% crit chance raid buffed makes me puke. I'll have to start stacking ArP. :D

The next naxx25-run I'm in, I'm going to offer gold to whomever can beat my DPS. I'm so tired lying at least 4% on dps above nr. 2.
