Holy Spec :
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVcbhZcxtzfMqih0euio
Perfect spec
Elrael thats new info for me , never used that spirit redepmtion till now.
Shadow spec not sure ?
Weird, like i said it's more then a year old. How could you miss that? Long brake? =p
I would spec shadow like
this
and if mana is an issues steal a point from something and put in Focused Mind.
Where to steal from is a personal prefference I guess.

Try this:
Shadow Spec
So pointless getting Imp. VE, it was just a filler before 3.1 because we had nothing else to put those points into. And IF is hardly as necessary as Imp. Shadowform...

Just curious, how is 3/3 Focused Mind better then 2/3 with Inner Focus?
Inner Focus is 25% crit per default and saves mana.

Because
Focused Mind
is a constant 5% mana decrease for your main abiliities...
Inner Focus
on the other hand has a 3 minute CD, and the crit bonus is not worth the mana loss. Personally, I find that I don't often use IF that often in a fight anyway...so no big loss for me.

Spirit redemption not usefull , neither is lightwell.
Nearly had a heart attack when I saw you write that about SoR

Going along the lines with this build
Holy
. It has a bit of everything. To be honest i don't use Renew alot or enough, so not really bothered going max points in the talent. It is interesting though as i think
Healing Prayers
could become viable in raids now that Prayer of healing can be cast on any party. Attach it with
The glyph
and i think we can see it being used more often as being stacked 3 times with
serendipitiy
will make quick prayer of healing casts.
So gonna be changing that build over time i reckon. :D

Dont think lightwell isnt as important ?
Sometimes it's really really good.
Four horseman 10man - we DPS korthazz down first with everyone, the 2nd tank takes rivendare alone without a healer until korthazz is down. The more HP and mitigation the tank has, the more lightwell will heal without being cancelled. Extreme easy mode with lightwell, but it's not necessary though.
Also you can often bring 1 healer less when you can focus on the tank and and have the raid heal themselves with a lightwell. We're talking about maybe up to 100k healing done for no mana cost and no casting done by yourself.
1 point that is in my opinion much better invested than in let's say, desperate prayer. Also note that using the lightwell doesn't interrupt casting so every caster can use it without having to stop.
My favorite fight to use it on is Malygos for the "spin cycle" or "washing machine phase" more commonly referred to as "Vortex".
Put one down at the start of the fight and take a bite out of a strudel, bam zero cost healing through at least two vortexes.

This how my holy spec will look, at 80 ill think
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVIbuZcxtcc0Vih0ehNo
Let me reiterate that SoR is a mandatory talent. Holy priests stack spirit not only as thier main regen stat, but they also get 25% sp from spirit. A holy priest with 1000 spirit w/o it just added an additional 50 spirit...for 1 talent point. Not to mention a healer dieing in a raid is one of the worst possible things that can happen, usually b/c no one is prepared for it. Consider the 15s not only as a time of free healing, but as a transitionary phase for other healers to realize what happened and be prepared to pick up your slack...or even a druid being ready to battle rez you the second it drops.
Holy is hard to spec IMO, b/c with the new changes, I would prefer to have 8 additional points. Discipline is fairly "cookie-cutter," with 2 points of user-preference to place somewhere in the first 2 tiers of holy. Shadow is also fairly "cookie-cutter," but it could still use one additional point...3 more points if you
need
Imp VE.
As for me, I plan on going
Discipline
and
Shadow
. And if I had to, I could pick up a
Holy
build.
For all the builds though, time will tell what becomes the "cookie-cutter" spec. I doubt holy will ever have one, due to all the excess talents it has. And before anyone mentions it, I use
Lolwell
simply b/c it is one of the strongest healing spells in the game. All you need is a group of people that know how to use it...or even a tank or lock that would like a say in any extra healing they might be needing.

I've got a Full disc build, and for my second I'm using this Holy/Disc hybrid one:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVcbuhhmohZbxxcf0qiu0xz
I love having the 6% haste and spirit from enlightenment. And being able to use PW:S very, very effectively still. And Mental Strength and Agility. I rarely use Renew, so no loss for me there. I'm loving it, tbh. I doubt I'll ever go back to a full holy build, the haste and amount of mana regen and efficiency are rad. Not running OOM at all.
I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.

While I personally think that your build wouldn't be as effective as either fully holy or fully discipline, that has got to be the best hybrid build I've seen in a long time for priests. Though I'd personaly put the 2 points from Healing Focus into Imp Renew. You may not use Renew a whole lot, but 10% extra healing can be very helpful, even if all your doing is placing it on a tank.

Thanks Aldones. I was considering that and dropping lightwell as well. It would be nice to get healing prayers too. I'm sure I'll have a chance to mess around with it more. It's true that I lose some healing potency without Divine Providence helping my aoe and some other spells, but the 6% haste (and spirit) is soooo nice for affecting every heal and the GCD.
After I've really put it to the test I'll post how it holds up vs a true holy build with some WWS numbers for healing and how my mana held up.

For P&S, isn't a 66% chance to refresh more than enough? That's really all that Spriests use P&S for, right? SW:D is still not a large part of the rotation, from what I understand.
Just curious on the reasoning.
