Well in my English class we have been reading a book called The Giver. The main setting is in a "community" where nothing bad, unexpected, sad or anything else negative ever happens. No currency is necesary and everything has a place and is in place. However many things are also missing such as choice (or rather the freedom to choose), nobody can see in color or hear music, and there is no LOVE. Those are just a few things missing. There is no wildlife nor any agriculture outside of food resources.
My teacher has had us research things that have been close to utopias, most just appear to be an outset group of people with minimal conflict (i say minimal because it is near impossible for a group of humans living in the same area to avoid it). My question is
Do you believe the human race could ever achieve "utopia" or a perfect world?

We read that last year. hehe
SPOILERSSSS.
In my opinion, no. Human kind will always be corrupt, no matter how you may try to change or fix problems.

No.
It's impossible for humans to achieve an utopian state.
Why?
"People are evil, Mr Constantine. People."

And for anyone who read the book the ending is quite ironic.

I read Brave New World, which also deals with the same topic of a Utopian Society. This society dealt with the corruption within humankind by using euphoric drugs and conditioning of babies.
Emotions are removed by scientific means and the community frowning upon monogamy.
A utopian society is IMPOSSIBLE to make. People thrive on dystopic societies.
MY, these books sound strangely alike.

Laihendi has read both, they have similarities but are both very unique.

I thought most books I read during my schooling were stupid, now I look back and see how relevant to life they were
