WHAT IS THIER POV.... Put yourself in thier shoes and see WHAT? That they are murdering deranged greedy crimals? What is thier view? What is thier justification? Put yourself in the shoes of a murdered victim instead, or of one of the starved hostages. Put yourself in THOSE shoes. You hippie idiot.
1. Calm down turbo.
2. I don't think you understood my statement.
If you read my first post, you might understand it a bit. Yes, they are greedy criminals. If you'd listen to the news, you'd know that they arent starving. The raft alone that the captain and some crew is being kept as food for ten days.

I assume most of you know about the Sumali Pirates, and who they have been stealing and murdering for about two years now. The US has done nothing about the situation, while other nations have clamored for response. Well yesterday (or the other day) a US ship was finally captured. Out Secretary of State said that this was a serious matter, and that they would look into doing something about it. This makes my head hurt. I firmly believe that we should send in a submarine and blow them out of the water. These people have extorted millions and billions of dollars out of people and have killed many people, and yet our government wants to deal with these people. In my opinion, the day we start dealing with criminals like these is the day we become criminals ourselves.
Discuss.
You know they have 50-something hostages right? But yeah just blow them up.
/facepalm
Instead of just jumping down my throat every time I post something you don't like Laihendi, why don't you use your brain?
Of course I want the hostages out of there first. Fine, I chose a bad word choice, but you should realize by now I don't want the hostages killed. Send in a swat team or something, but kill the pirates one way or another.

Still though, you shouldn't fight violence with violence.. that's an obvious.
WHAT! If someone kills your parents, do you give them a cookie and ask them to be nice?
No, but I wouldn't kill them either. Lock them away for all eternity, yes. Kill them, no.
I support your common sense

Lock them away where? Feed them 3 square meals? Give them television? Exercise room? What if they killed 10 people? Do they also get sent to the 'Enclosed Exercise Facility' that we try to label as prisons? Maybe we could give them easter furlougs, and oportunity for parole if they act nice and write childrens books. Maybe they can even go teach at a university, if they say thier crimes were politicially motivated.
No...
String em up... Flog em to death.

Yeah, put them in the horrible prison that nowadays has internet acess, well-prepared meals, and whatnot, for the rest of his life. That'll really torment him.
Either start executing more criminals with more torturous methods, or make more old-style jails. Ya know, the ones where a cell was nothing but iron bars and a hole for your crap.

Sorry, a misunderstanding. When you said that they should be blown out of the water, and made to mention of the hostages, Laihendi assumed that you weren't thinking about them.

We should not be the ones to execute the pirates. Do I think they deserve a release and forgiveness? Of course not, but have one of the other countries deal with them how they see fit. We have enough on our plate and some petty, common criminals don't need to take up any more time, money, or resources that we need.

Thank you Laihendi, you have no idea how well that made me just feel. I truly do thank you!

I'd say that this is pretty important and that they aren't petty or common . . .

They took Americans hostage. My neighbor. My citizen. My business.

There is perhaps a problem here.
If these crimes are commited in International Waters, they're outside of the law. No country on Earth can stop them, at least by legal means.
*ahem*
at least by legal means.

Regardless, thats beside the point. We don't need to waste the US' time and money with these gorillas.

You've got such a extremist view, MyTie. No, they don't deserve a relaxing prison life with "television and an exercise facility". I believe that one of the many other countries that had asked us for help take over responsibility for the pirates and deal with them the way they want.
I won't stand for America stooping down to a "^&*! it, kill them all!" mentality.

I normally won't stand for it either. However, there is a time for war. There is a time for killing the enemy. Political... religeous.... I don't always agree with fighting over. However, these are murderous scum.

I have to agree with MyTie on this one. Yes, maybe his views are extreme, but the US has to do something about it.

The thing is, these pirates are not acting on religious or political motives. They are criminals that in search of money, same as the guy that robs convenience stores. But taken to a much bigger extreme, of course.
Murderous scum? They haven't killed anyone! They've taken a ship and its crew hostage. The captain even tried escaping and they
still
didn't harm him.

I'm pretty sure that they have killed people, and the captain of the US ship offered to go along quietly if they would set the rest of the crew free. he was doing what a captain should, going down with he ship. You know the reason why they spare any crews life? Not because they care about life, but because they can get more money for them alive then dead.

I would take action against them for being violent criminals.Murderous scum? They haven't killed anyone! They've taken a ship and its crew hostage. The captain even tried escaping and they
