the glyph is of no use. you won't be using health funnel since you're tanking, not your pet.
the trinket it fine for the stamina but you can't dodge while casting so something like
essence of gossamer
will be much better.

Blightman,
I want to thank you for posting this, not because I was sitting at home thinking "I really want to be a lock tank but I don't know how to do it" but because I was sitting around thinking "I wonder what other ways I can challenge myself to make this game even more interesting" I came browsing the forums looking for PvP help when i stumbled upon this. The night I found it I re-speced, re-geared and set myself off to become a lock tank. It's only something I do on the side and only for shiggles( i think i saw that on this post don't feel like checking to make sure) anyway as of last night I officially tanked Reg nexus, my gear isn't exactly what i need it to be and i'm still working on it but it's provided me with great fun, both in playing and an excellent read. So thank you again. :)
I'll be working on my technique and eventually(once i hit 80) i'll try my hand at doing things my own level. Nothing too fancy yet but it's great fun and i whole new way to play for anyone who is getting slightly bored of the same thing all the time.

Cool, PLease add any tips or tricks you come across when tanking for shiggles.
This should get easier in 3.2 with the change to resilience. The way it is worded right now resilience in 3.2 will reduce ALL incoming damage.

also, did you actually assemble this gear in game? that dagger etc?
i really think you've misunderstood the concept here so i hope you haven't spent much time or money on those items if you really did gather them.

no to dodge (can't dodge while casting)
it can be done but only with a lot of input from a full group.raid. it's not something any warlock should decide to do on their own, only if their whole raid is
that
bored

like what? change all the +crit into +resilience? all you've done is turn some PvE gear into PvP. i can't see it having a big impact on the viability (or lack thereof) of warlock tanking.
the biggest issue, if you ever manage to really get past the massive amount of damage you need to tank, is threat. you can't have your cake and eat it too.

To make the Warlock class a tanking one, lets face it we'd have to become demon druids.
Make Meta like bear form, give it tanking spells and new ways to avoid, also talents which means we can avoid while casting.
Give them block (with wings) and dodge, lots of armor and health.
All in all it wouldn't be too hard to do, but i think its all pretty clear to us that this isn't going to happen, no matter how fun it sounds.

Lezzeral Profile
Thoughts on it. A Warlock tanking gear using items you can get, that have high armor/stam. and from testing and checking around a bit.. YES. you CAN Dodge while Casting.
Wow, you would completely fail at tanking with that gearset, why level 70 items? anyways blood draining enchant is useless cause you wont be meleeing, and you
CAN'T
dodge while casting
Dodge, parry and block are disabled while casting

as ksero says, awful awful profile. shows complete lack of understanding.
you're taking all that defence for...? the miss chance? resilience is all you need to get crit immune and resilience gear does come with spellpower which is essential for tanking.
the really important pieces are the few pvp pieces that have high stam, resilience, SP AND hit (
example
). they're perfect for lock tanking.
as for the dodge while casting thing, why so you think DKs casting army of the dead get so much damage reduction while they cast it?
it's because while they cast it they'll take every hit and avoid none of them.

there are so many misconceptions in that wall of text >.<
the biggest one is the worth of defence rating. each point of defence
skill
gives 0.04% miss chance. it takes 25 defence skill to get 1% miss and that is around 120 defence
rating
.
that is not good use of stat budgets.
also, it takes 689 defense rating to become crit capped while it only takes 460 resilience to gain the same effect. this simple fact along with the fact that the best cloth gear in terms of balancing dps stats and stamina also has resilience on it makes pvp gear a CLEAR choice.
yes, defence gives miss but warlocks do not want to look at avoidance at all. they need to soak the damage not avoid it.
your stuff about hit and especially
crit
caps is very confused. if i understood what you were getting at better i could tell you why you're wrong, as it is i can only say that you're wrong.
however, the point with the hit rating problem isn't about hitting a cap like for dps, it's just that the gear that comes with all the stam and resilience does NOT (generally speaking) come with hit rating. there are some pieces but not enough to cap by a long way. yes tanks have hit and expertise caps but the 17% hit for spells is higher than both and there is no gear specifically itemised to provide it.
