Meh, I don't know much about the relationship between the US and Cuba, so I can't comment.
Me neither...
Is this the 1990's Nuclear War thing?

The problem is the US forcing itself into Cuba, just because they don't share the same economic values.

i dont think the sanctions was over economy. the sanctions just effected their economy ie embargo.
The only reason the US is interested in Cuba is because of their economic system. Nothing. Else.

oh $%^&*! i miss read... sorry economic values not economy.
your right economic values and the nukes... and dictater.
Yeah, a country that still drives around in 50s cars has nukes. That's over since the Soviet Union broke down. And the US government doesn't give a damn if a country has or hasn't a dictator. It's all because Cuba is the only second world country left. And that goes against the State's plans.
Don't get me wrong. When I say "plans" I'm not accusing the United States of conspiracy or anything. Every government has plans to grow stronger and larger. The US's include not having any communist countries.

I really don't care about Cuba. The UN should arrest Castro and his brother Roul, and anyone else that wants to take power under that regime of crimes against humanity, or benefiting from them. The people should have a democracy, enforced by the UN, not the US. In fact, the US should not help at all, that way the world can't point its finger and whine anymore because the US did something.
In fact, I don't think the US should have troops anywhere, or give aid to any country. We should be tottally self centered, like every other country. That way people will leave us alone. We send money and troops to help stabalize a country, and everyone hates us for it.
Let's bring our troops home, fire our government, focus our economy on ourselves, drill for oil, strip mine the rockies, mass plant the bread basket, and tax the hell outa every country that asks for our help. We could live like kings.

cuba first on the USA's list for world domination, then guess whos next on our list. no offense but heads its canada, tails its mexico...
edit... just curious. what is your definition of second world country?
The US doesn't want to conquer the world. Well, at least not military. Politically, economically and culturally the US has already conquered many countries. But, as Dorian Gray once brilliantly remarked:I've lived long enough to see the future become history, professor. Empires fall. There are no exceptions.
Some people think that the current economy crisis is the start to that.
Edit: MyTie, that either was very ignorant or a very, very long sarcasm. Knowing what I know, my money is on the second.

Oh, the economy downturn is not just in the US. The whole world is suffering. That leads people to question the current economic capitalist system. If those questions lead to much change in that system, the whole base of the US's reign will crumble.

It only took two posts for someone to take the bait. Whether or not I was being sarcastic or not, your arguement against me is that it is 'very ignorant'. Well done. How about explaining your views a little bit. Or, if you'd prefer, we can continue on this....
'No you're ignorant'
'Nut uh... you are'
'No you'
'No you'
7th grade debate class is better organized.
