Me and a Rogue friend were running BM for the Hourglass of the Unraveller all day and when it finally dropped and he was a shoe-in to get it, a warlock rolled need against him and won, when asked why he simply replied "I need."
Now, this was quite the shocker because this Warlock was doing very well in the instance so I don't know what to think, he never said a single word after, not even a sorry or anything. Things like that make me wanna never run another instance again with people I don't know extremely well.

Ok i was with my group in naxx.We managed to kill kel'thuzad too and i asked every1 in group do they need Might of Menethil (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22798
)and they were mostly 70's so they said no and i was only lvl 60 there so i thought it will surely be mine if drops. It drops i am happy and situation is:
ME:Yay might of menethil dropped!!! (need roll by me everyone passed on except a mage who needed too and he wins it)
ME:WTF dude u can't wear that!!!
MAGE:oh...i thought it was soulseeker
(
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22799
)
ME:Do you even look what did u need?
MAGE:Yes i looked!
ME:OH REALLY?!?!?!?!?!
MAGE:It isn't important i can't wear it i will sell it in AH
ME:It's ****ing BOP!!!
MAGE:NVM then i guess it sells good at vendor too.
ME: /suicide
So i guess i m the winner (if winner exists in this post) :)
I'm surprised you took down KT as a pug, was this on the test server as that seems pretty wild to me, how many people? Especially crazy to take a 60 warrior as I will guess that your gear was not the greatest.
Anyways, that's definately the worst ninja I've ever heard of, you should have contacted a GM or something about it.

Running Black Morass on my rogue, Hourglass of the Unraveller (32 crit rating, chance on crit to increase AP by 300) drops and our tank warrior rolls need. His reason, "hey, i need the crit to hold aggro." I looked him up on armory, 61 points in protection and with the trinket, 6.9% crit. BTW his name is Saimer on Alleria.

Yanno, I've been lucky so far in grouping, most of the time in instances I go with friends. Usually being run through with their 70s. (haven't been through a full instance in outland yet. No one cares about Hellfire Citadel at lvl 60+ on my server :/ ) And we go to get stuff to boost the lowbies. i.e. Went through a couple SM runs, got Herod's should and a warrior friend got the axe. I got Locksey's staff and gloves (at the time I couldn't wear mail but the warrior had a better shoulder piece.) Got Morgraines might and Hand of Righteousness. So I count myself lucky. I ran a PUG in Scholomance, but I passed on everything (I usually do in a PUG) until three pieces of mail dropped. The Shammy chest (not the dungeon set but the one best suited for Enhance Shaman) Loomguard Bracers (which was better armor than what I had on and helped with my spot healing since we didnt have a dedicated healer) and A pair of blue mail boots. Luckily I was the only mail wearer in the group and they let me need on all three. Of course I ASKED if I could before, just to make sure it was alright. I even linked the gear I was wearing that the pieces would replace. Also, a nice blue rogue dagger dropped. I have a rogue alt that would have loved to have that but since I had needed on two pieces before I passed on it like all the other BoE's. There's a story about BRD I could tell which is relevent to the thread but I'll get to the gist of it.
Blue plate drops from the spider boss.
I pass
Hunter passes
Druid rolls greed
Paladin rolls need.
Paladin wins and druid goes off the deep end about how she didnt need the armor since she was wearing alot better. Paladin's excuse. "I hit the wrong button" which is believable since she greeded on the rest of the BoP blues before and passed on the ones after til we wiped. She doesnt Enchant as far as I know (She was in on the Scholomance run I mentioned above.) That went on for about 5 minutes then he leaves the group. After starting with five we were left with three (four if you count the hunter pet). The other had to jet for RL reasons. Eventually we wiped (she pulled a Leroy in the gnome area and I couldn't keep up the healing on her and fend off 10 gnomes XD ) and we called it quits on there. All I wanted from there was the hammer or the mail chest piece that dropped off the last boss. I got a pair of BoP blue cloth shoulders (after we all passed and then rerolled with /roll) which helped with my healing a little.
On a side note. For the general part, hunters may be one of the easiest classes to play but there ARE good hunters out there as rare as they may be. If I was a hunter, I'd still be the same about looting in group.

My memory is getting a little blurry (no it's not Alzheimer :p), but I slightly remember a PUG in SM with my druid. A paladin needed on just about anything!!
The first thing that dropped was the Scarlet Belt. Paladin needs, and another party member asks why. I told him it was perfectly normal for a pally to need that. The answer I got was that the pally was
already wearing it
!!
So he needed it for, I don't know disenchant or selling, whatever. After he needed on the next 2 or 3 items we disbanded our group and looked for another one. As far as I can remember I didn't find another one that day ...
I myself have ninja'ed only once with my lock (at least i think i have only once :p) and I didn't do it on purpose. I just learned how to wield 1h swords from a weapon master. Yeah I know, swords are no weapons for a lock :p I just wanted my lock to learn everything he could - including weapons.
So I'm in BFD and a sword drops, I hit need. No one complaines, I get the sword. A bit later an even better sword drops, so I hit need again. From that moment on hell started breaking loose! People screaming "FFS!!", getting kicked out of the party, getting /rude gestures while hs'ing out of there...
Let's just say I've learned my lesson :-)

I once had a Pala ninja every single cloth drop in SFK. He claimed he needed them "to improve my healing". Aside from me (tanking), there were 3 Mages. They got really pissed.

Well not necessarily a "ninja" or bad need roll but I still find it very humorous that one of my guilds warlocks has the Wildfury Greatstaff
Wildfury Greatstaff
Binds when picked up
Unique
Two-Hand Staff
135 - 287 Damage Speed 3.00
(70.2 damage per second)
500 Armor
+75 Stamina
Durability 120 / 120
Requires Level 70
Equip: Increases your dodge rating by 54.
Equip: Increases attack power by 773 in Cat, Bear, Dire Bear, and Moonkin forms only.
... actually he has two of them. He is the bane of most the druids on our server.
Are you on Bloodhoof EU by any chance? :o

Hunter wins
Hand of Righteousness
on a need roll-
His explanation of why still haunts me to this day:
"for the dps"
I use that on my 39 rogue twink. Why? Cause it's the highest dps mace in the 39 bracket. Better than paying for a BOE with melee stats and less DPS off the AH.
The funny thing is hunters can't use maces.

Dude, swords are the IDEAL lock weapon. Most swords in the game EASILY out spell-damage even the best staffs, and with an offhand, many swords become better than staves. I had the Bringer of Death, which is arguable the best 70 blue staff, and I replaced it quite quickly with an Sword + Off hand combo that gives better Spelldamage at a loss of very little stats.
Now if you are needing swords with like plus crit rating and plus hit rating instead of spell-crit and spell-damage, then yeah, bad job.
Really? Maybe in Outland, but I'm not that high yet :p Anyway, after that party I suddenly found a good staff and I've been using staffs ever since. I guess that'll change if I go to Outland :)
Btw my druid's healing gear now includes a green mace and a green off-hand lantarn, so yeah i guess it's possible :p
