Zelda the orginal on nintendo. Loved nintendo i must say, was alot more fun than todays consoles. I have fonds memories blowing the port with fresh air to get ride of dust on the game cards. Having to adjust the game card with moving and fixating it in the port there you put it in nintendo. I used to have you know popicle stick of wood stacked on his other to maintain the graphic and function on the game right. Perhaps only had a bit broken console but it was fun, pure fun. Cannot explain it better:)
on pc i must say i always been a fan of monkey islands(love that pirates joke game, 1 and 2 is best in the serie).
Morrowind was also a big favorite(my main char is even named after a figure in the game, the last dwarf king you get from talking to npc).
Doom, slaughter must i say more.

I was a hardcore gamer in my younger years but when someone recently tuned me into WoW I was hooked- it was everything I wanted in games back in the day. It's the only thing I play now- so yeah it holds the favorite spot.

To me, for a videogame to be a favourite they have to be fun.
Here is my top 4:
1) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64
First game I bought, owned and finished by myself. The cutscenes and music were amazing.
2) Goldeneye 007 - N64
Most fun with multiplayer - remote mines FTW!
3) Battlefield 1942/Vietnam LAN matches - PC
Nothing is more fun that piloting an aircraft carrier up onto Iwo Jima island.
Or running over your mates with a jeep. Or the rocketpack. Or suicide missions in planes.
4) Vigilante 8 - PS1
Cars + weapons in a videogame = priceless fun with mates.
Wow isn't full of fun, but the social aspect and ability to roam freely is awesome.
There's always something to do; dailies, raiding, ganking, achievements, farming.
Or even joining in on Barrens banter or spamming "Anal " in trade chat.

My favorites are actually all the Metroid games, shortly followed by Zelda and Elder Scrolls. I can't pick within the series' though.

World of Warcraft is easily my favorite game at the moment, but "Of All Time" I definitely have to say StarCraft.
I think StarCraft is one of the best games ever made, and I'm not just referring to computer games, I'm talking about ALL games, checkers and chess and poker included. I tihnk what makes a good game is the base assumption that all players involved start each game with an equal potential, and an equal opportunity to succeed.
The easiest way to acomplish this is to make both sides identical -- Like Chess or Checkers or WarCraft 2. But this is boring, and detrimental to the 'game' as a whole. The better way to do it is to start with a number of seemingly un-similar constructs and build them all into perfectly balanced, yet very unique builds. StarCraft's 3 races pulled this off better than any game before, and any game since. The balance of races that Blizzard maintained throughout the life of StarCraft is the reason it remains to this day one of the most popular competition games of all time, and StarCraft leagues in Korea still exist and thrive.
Lets all hope StarCraft 2 extends this legacy, rather than destroy it.

On a side note, has anyone ever played 'the Realm' by (Sierra Games, then Codemasters, then Norseman Games)? It was one of the first graphical MMO's with a peak population of about 1200 players. It was fun =)
