I was in the Dwarf starting zone and needed to deliver the supplies to Stormwind. The quest was red but I thought how hard could it be to travel to Stormwind? So I ran to Loch Modan, then south to the Badlands. These lions kept coming out of nowhere and slaughtering me. So I spent an hour dying, rezzing, running a few more yards, dying, rezzing, all the way to the southwest corner of the zone, thinking I could get to the next zone, one closer to Stormwind. I get there and realize there's only an ogre cave. I googled the quest online (one of my first Wowhead visits?) and read about the Deeprun Tram that travels between the two capitals. I paid my repair bill (my gear was all red at that point- never took it off) and took the damned train.
Early on, I moved and hopped around in combat, because I saw the word "dodge" appear when I dodged an attack once, thinking that helped be avoid attacks.
I levelled Prot because my friend wanted me to be a tank. I simply thought a tank needed stamina and armor, so I was replacing my gear with a shaman shield in Kara because it had more of both. Luckily the shaman in the raid didn't want it...
I kept the claws and furs that the opening creatures drop thinking I might be able to do something with them.
I vendored
Motes of Life
while farming for Sporregar rep, not realizing they turn into valuable materials.
I picked skinning and leatherworking for my prot pally. Good thing for the +90 stamina bracer enchant now...
I spread my talent points across all trees.
I might be able to think of more later. :P

A few of my noob moments:
-Made the switch from D2 to WoW (started WoW around Dire Maul patch), so I thought if I right clicked mobs as fast as I could actually helped me kill them faster (frozen orb/static spam ftw?)
*and I was a mage....
-On the same 1st char, I bought gear with high armor and agility, since the tooltip said agil increases armor... thought the more armor I had, the better off I was
-Didn't know I could put spells on the hotbar until my friend called me out in mid-teens
-Saw my friend running Uldaman, thought it looked cool, and asked the group leader if I could come (level 22)
Ohh the noob moments of starting a new game

One time in gchat ppl were talking about how "imba" they were (they were mostly lvl 70's). I was playing an enhancement shaman at the time and i whispered my friend saying "what does imba mean?" He says its short for "imbalanced". So i responded in gchat with "damn, im so imba! i have stats all over the place" there was a long silence and i never even knew what i did wrong until much much later

On my first character, a lock, I somehow got to level 4 using only my dagger. I didn't want to waste my mana using spells because I had no idea how to get it back. My friend who came and helped me /facepalmed and told me to use my spells, and drink to get mana back.
From playing RPGs like Breath of Fire 3 I thought you could go into an inn and pay to rest up to get all your health/mana back and armor fixed.
That same poor lock has also gone under a lot of abuse. I had no idea what good stats for a lock were, so I went for armor value figuring I would be harder to kill, and looks. I remember at one point being entirely lime green because it matched my guild's tabbard, but it was all +nature resist and stamina, and wondered why I was having such a hard time. It also wasn't until about lvl 40 did I realize what specs should be and fixed my points as they were everywhere all over the trees. Early on, I also didn't quest with my imp for a long time because I had no idea what pet control was, thus Azpep was always on aggressive and he kept getting me killed.
On my ally toon on another server (because a lot of my fiends play ally) I once saw in the trade chat that someone was looking for potions and I could make them and I had just posted some. I whispered them and told them that I had just posted some thinking it would get me a sale. They said they bought all of them on the AH, so I remember telling them "Well I'm in the Exodar, so maybe you have to come here and buy it from them." I didn't know that the AHs were connected, and wondered why the person replied with "..."
Man I was a real noob =D!
