No. I never said threat isnt important, I said it isnt an issue, only the most terrible tank would still have aggro issues and if you have played through any of the old content without having threat issues then you are certainly not going to have any in WOTLK.
if this is the case, i would say the dps you run with needs to step it up. if they are not able to push you on the malygos encounter, then they are not doing their job.

Some bosses are immune to taunt. I know blizzard have made that a lot less common in WotLK raids than before, but there's still a fair number of taunt immune bosses in raids.

This thread reeks of people saying "LOL that is dumb, I didn't try it but it's still dumb. I could have bosses down quicker but that is stupid. If there happened to be a better geared dps than me and he pulls aggro then he is an idiot."
more dps = more tps
more dps = bosses dying faster
more dps = an OT actually helping in a 1 tank fight
I have only 1 thing to say
why limit yourself?

By using deep wounds you are limiting yourself. When ulduar comes out there should be some hard boss encounters and then mitigation WILL matter.
You keep saying this. What avoidance and mitigation is missing from a deepwounds build?
People will be forced to lose deep wounds to up their avoidence and that will nerf their threat because they are used to this dumb build and relied on it over their rotations.
What? The deep wounds rotation is the same as any other rotation, but with more threat.
I can easily put out as much threat as any tank with deep wounds build and I will have better avoidence.
I'll take that bet. I have better threat and better avoidance than you.
If tanks arent prepared to give up deepwounds in ulduar they will have a large suprise when they get slapped around like a clothy just so they can put out a bit more dps.
The ONLY talent that a deepwounds gives up that could be considered a mitigation or avoidance talent is Improved Spell Reflect, which is useless on every fight except a very small handful.
We are tanks not dpsers, know your role basically
and to the above poster: the difference to the speed of the boss dying is so marginal that this point is completely not valid. When your dead on sarth3d cuz you took too much damage that extra 200dps really isnt going to impress anyone is it?
You know all those 1% wipe stories? There's probably one of those stupid "200 worst 1% wipes" threads going over on the general forum right now. 200 dps can and does make a difference.
Really Barleyarley, how many times do you have to be told you are wrong before you will listen. I've seen dozens of posts from you saying threat isn't important, damage isn't important, you lose avoidance from taking DW, etc etc etc. This is all false.
