Oh, but considering you assume we can live without animals, even though they have assisted us in evolving and living everywhere, looking back even at caveman drawing have been depicted killing animals for food and clothing (maybe on the clothing, crazy hairy nudists), I got a little interested.
Even the native Americans who have the most respect for nature killed for meat and hide.
I just don't get it.

It's still relative, the guys were using the hedgehog to improve their aim.
In their view, it's not meaningless.
LOL
Of course, this is not to say that most of the members of society within my relative region would agree to this statement.

I gotta agree with vikey on this one, Lusky called names first.
I did, and it was uncalled for, sorry if I've had a bad day, but I'm not apologizing.
Also, before I get comments on my opinion, I'm no MyTie, and I usually don't try and share opinions because I'm also a bad at explaining my own.

Simple, the counterargument is that it's no longer necessary.

I think the main point is that you're being a hypocrite, not the fact that you've called names, but w.e. it wasn't directed at me.
I didn't say we can live without animals, I said we can live without
mindlessly
killing them. I know we
can't
live w/o animals.
again, relative.

We can live without fur.
We can live without meat.
Wut?
Where does meat come from?
Now, I'm not all for savagely beating an animal to death to gain its meat and fur.. I'm against torture of animals, too.. but, god they are so delicious.

Eh, I came here looking for random silliness. Woe to me for being in a serious discussion.

Let me make myself clear if I havn't.
I think killing animals for
no reason at all
is bad
I think killing animals for fur, meat, leather, killing by testing and things of that nature is very bad.
I think hunting is bad, I see no fun in killing a defenseless fawn that is trying to survive from bears already in a forest...
But things like
self defense, and things that fall into that category
are fine. If I'm being attacked by a bear and I had a gun I'd shoot it.
I'm not that close minded.
Vikey, again, that's all relative.

its a small furry animal
Not the way I use in. Unless you use it to describe blademeld in bed . . . >.>
Blademeld is no longer allowed to post his opinion in here. ;)

If a dog bites you for teasing it with a piece of meat, is that self defense or harassment to the animal?
By the law it's both, I'd call it harassment.
Post by
blademeld
I meant killing the animal for self defense in a
life or death
situation. Not a bite or a scratch, in that situation you could just leave the animal alone. I'm talking about being mauled to death by a bear.
Again, relative, what if the bear was sniffing a person whose dog was eaten by the bear and the person panicked so much and truly believed that his life was threatened that he killed the bear?
The case scenario is always perspective.
