Edit: For those who are too lazy to read whole thread and disscusion, this is currently propably the best build available for shockadin

What i remember shockadin were fun to play long time ago (thus the only gear you needed was LAMElar from old pvp) and werent quite possible in wotlk... but now paladin trees and mechanics are changed and i think shockadins have chance once again!
Here is build i was thinking about:

Facts:
1) dualspec - you can play your beloved shockadin when you want and switch to serious raider anytime is needed
2) excorism - another spell to our arsenal - yay!
3) spellpower - no longer healing only, now just grab your holy gear and go!
4) retri tree - reduced ammount of points needed to invest here to get full effect
5) kings is trainable
6) no mana issues (judgemens of the wise and divine plea)
What do we have:
1) Holy Shock - quite a nuke ignoring armor without chance of magic resistance
2) Excorism - long range, again without armor and chance of magic resistance (im curious if 2sec silence glyph will be changed)
3) Judgement - now this is the key to our success - with Judgements of the Wise and Divine Plea we cant go oom unless we screw something hard way - due to this we dont have to invest into imp BoW or Purifying Power.
4) Consecration - of course that will hurt while you are flesh healing yourself
5) Hammer of Wrath - run just run... first we hammer you, then we get again close eneugh with help of Persuit of Jusice
6) Flesh of Light - with Spiritual Focus, imp Conc. aura and The Art of War its nearly impossible to stop our healing.
Bonuses of spec:
1) Reduced duration of fear, disorient, curses, diseases, poisons and silence by 30% (bye bye rogues, locks and dks) and disarm by 50%.
2) Base crit chance of Holy Shock improved by 22% (!)
3) Base crit chance of Excorism improved by 16%
4) Base crit chance of Judgement improved by 29% (!) if holy bonus doesnt apply (not sure if judgements are considered holy spells) and 34% if holy bonus does apply.
5) Base crit chance of Flesh of Light improved by 16%
6) Base crit chance of Holy Light improved by 22%
7) After each crit, ability to Flesh heal our plate ass for few k.
8) Much more, just check the build.
If you read through all to here you maybe ask why im writing you all this. Its becouse ppl already forgot what shockadins are and their possibility in pvp. If you think you rather stay retri think again - what do you have as retri? Crusader strike? Divine storm? Judgement? 5k mana for weak heals? Dont you wanna replace it with Holy Shock, Excorism, Judgement, 20k mana and extreme big heals?
Edit: the only question is what seal use? I would propably go for seal of blood, becouse seal of justice cant crit and you can flesh heal after each SoB crit which will hurt you.

now i will say the Flaws.
Judgment is the only spell here i see this spec really on , exorcism/holyshock i feel like is there while Judgment on CD
talent:here i think is misread like art of war(will only affect your judgment), lay of hands?
much of the damage in ret tree will give you little, sure JotW will give you mana regen!
but divine plea?(edit: did read dispell able again but it give more mana regen)
and with not get the deep talent in holy like
Holy guidance,its Spellpower !
Judgment of the pure.this give good chunk of damage on a judgment and will help you seal(don't use SoB...its for Str based build, rather us
SoC
+ you get some haste to help melee hit speed to hit, but you can open with SoR then switch to SoC)
the two above make it more worth in a judgment build of a offense paladin)
Enlightend Judgments
will give you great 30 yards range! since you main weapon is Judgment (well not justice because of balance reason) will make you on good safe range from the nifty rogue's and when close in go SoC and start get as man stack then hit!
idea for
talent build
(NB! i not totally up to date on aura mastery? is it misspelled or it is greater then cons aura or i feel like i missed something)
kite the melee, as you can only judgment maybe but you can at least do something compare to them and save the hammer for them to get close
try stick to pvp Holy gear
but i will warn you! many will bash you with Shockadin is dead! or never was! just a fantasy! bla bla
but hey! its your game! play what you want

I agree with faia, cept I'd take the points from EfaE and use em on Sanctified Ret and SoC. 3% damage increase is very nice. Also, SoC is the most powerful seal in the game outside SoB, which will cause recoil damage. It's the best seal for PvP use. Get it.

I can take SoC as main seal, but i dont agree with investing more into holy. Kiting is nice, but in most times you will have emeny close to you. I didnt took imp retri aura becouse i already invested into imp conc aura

What's your reasoning behind not taking the purifying power talent? it reduces the cooldown on exorcism significantly.

Thx for support :) I would like go down in retri a little more, but i simply dont have points for it. There is no need for putting single point in seals of of pure, becouse ill propably rly use seal of command instead, and lol i didnt noticed what aura mastery rly does :D Imo vengeance is very usefull,becouse we will be critting a lot...

If it's called SHOCKadin, why not focus on spells and spellpower? Why make a ret paladin with too many points in holy?\
Shockadins existed because retribution was so terribly broken. Ret had to stack INT along with their melee stats. SPH was a much better damage stat for paladins at the time, and Shockadins put it to use.
They no longer exist now mainly because ret doesn't suck as much anymore.
EDIT: If you're using a slow 2h and itemizing for AP, you won't be able to heal effectively or get full use out of Holy Shock. Choose Holy or Ret, this fails.

uh.. Holy Shock does way more damage... have you even tried playing a shockadin?
Also, a holy/ret paladin in pvp is very popular. I don't see why you say shockadins are dead.
One of the best pvp guild (SK gaming) has a holy/ret shockadin and their rating is somewhere around 2500.
Shockadins can heal/dps/cc and have ton of armor. What is there to not like?
1) I never said their was dead
2) Yes it do good damage but its not game breaking
3) The shockadin in arena is a jack of all trade's that serve all arena needs! CC!damage! and healing! but then again, most team not go after a healing paladin as they know they against a fortress , but only con is you lose haste/cast speed a healadin got but it all depend on playstyle
4)Don't pull out raiting.....its like say "David is better then Goliath! just because he did hit him with a rock! mean every small man is better with a rock vs a big brute!"
it mean not all is that good as a paladin but it not say they got no chance either, just bad way to compare
5) I did say it mainly did go on judgment as he said he rly on JotW and art of war,fanaticm that only affect the judgment effect but its not that BAD idea to focus around 1 skill but it can be frustrating if it get cloaked ect
6) No , I did play shockadin in tbc (i know its long time ago) but from own experience i find it frustrating build vs other healer's

If he go much deeper in ret its not shockadin anymore but a retadin, more you go in ret, the more judgment based the build become to you get the CS or DS (ake nuke spell) instead of shock
SoC is not that bad idea to use either , good you pointed that out but will it serve better then SoV? maybe SoC and while judgment on cd weave in SoV to get application's`? as holy weapon not that amazing damage on with SoC (if not 2h is you idea to fight)
I not believe this &*!@ about "R.I.P of shockadin"is true, that many people get posted in face is "true"so try some test, come back with how it work and enlighten or maybe write a guide to help out people or old shockadins(like me=P) . good idea if you want help from people to crunch number is the elitistsjerks

Thats not bad... and i totaly forgot improved auras now stack, so we can use retri and stil have silence and interupt pretection...
But imo taking aura mastery and purifying power would be better than lights grace, we wanna atack, not heal raids...
The question if take holy guidence or judgement of the wise + art of war was here always, and imo 10% more dmg in judgements + instant heals + awesome mana regen could be better than just some spellpower. Better surviability and no worries about mana in cost of slightly less dps.
Lets say this is basic shockadin build

1) imp. conc. aura (or if 100% efect once in 2 minutes is eneugh you dont have to) or divine intelect/lay of hands
1,5) (at this mmnt you should invest to another holy talents to get holy shock)
2) holy shock, or also purifying power
3) holy guidence or continue in retri
4) taking art of war and judgements of the wise
5) taking fanatism
Imo this would be MY shockadin build

Because there are absolutely no hit items out there that a holy paladin can use, such as weapons, trinkets, necks, rings, or, fel, even enchants!
