Typical everyday WoW Scenario for me (enhancement shaman)
I enter the queue for LFG for an instance with the comment "Enhancement DPS"
I would assume people would reply with "DPS for H VH?" or "Wanna run H VH?" or even "Stats please?"
But I end up with (and I'm sure this has happened to you) "What spec are you?" or "Heals?" even though its explicitly stated that I am enhancment.
/facepalm
Resto is not the only spec we have!
I find typically that people don't even read the comments these days, they just see the class. Which
of course
hopefully will be fixed with the
new LFG interface
in the next patch.

Ah, LFG, the world of failcraft for most players:
People who are a hybrid class who don't list their spec/role (e.g. a paladin with no comment)
People who list an instance without specifying heroic or regular
People who leave out important parts of their message, e.g. "Mage LFG" (with no level)
When I say "Healer LFG <instance>" I get a bunch of whispers saying "I'll heal"
But the best is when you're in queue for ramps, you see Paladin, Druid, Warrior, DK in a group and they're advertising "NEED TANK!"

Probably one of the most annoying things I've found, in terms of raiding, is losing pure shaman healing gear (Mail with mp5, etc.) to a holy paladin. This has happened 3 times and each time it makes my blood boil.

Ugh I am not looking forward to taking my shaman into Naxx just to see all my elemental or resto gear in the hands of some Paladin.

i got realy #$%^d when a ninja druid ninjaed my held in offhand: he/she/it was resto and that trinket had mp5 spellpower and crit. he even used a 2hander and claimed to have a 1hander in the bank. starting the good old shamans dont use held in offhand. though i have little understanding about what good 7k armor does to my healing
I never use anything below my armor class, because there are times that I get aggro - random charges, invisible mobs or adds right on top of me, solo questing, and simply sometimes it takes the tank a little bit to get aggro (e.g. get some adds when D&D or TC is on cooldown). At those times, the armor helps. That said, a druid rolling on an off-hand frill is NOT a ninja. The closer person to a ninja in that scenario was you.

Gear is gear. Just because you can wear mail doesn't mean it's always the best piece for you. Just because you can wear a shield doesn't mean off-hands are out of bounds.

So I pose the question: how do we get people to understand shaman?
Really the only thing that we can do is either:
Take the time to explain things to them;
Direct them to certain forums and stickies;
Get them to level up a shaman
I like option 1 better, but sometimes you just can't get through to people and have to resort to the third option.

People who are intolerant of other people's race. And trolls.
You, sir, win an internet.
