Ok, this is by no way a whinning post, but rather a dicussion one.
How many of you feel numb about the Lifebloom changes?
If you don't know what I'm talking about:
Lifebloom: Mana cost of all ranks doubled. When Lifebloom blooms or is dispelled, it now refunds half the base mana cost of the spell per application of Lifebloom, and the heal effect is multiplied by the number of applications.
I understand the need to balance our most effective healing spell, if not the most effective healing spell in the game. But they have already reduced the coeffs on the healing before LK, they increased the mana cost and now they are basically killing the ability to roll them on multiple targets, normally tank.
So we can't use Lifebloom as we did before. Think about the mana regen nerf, that was allready a hit to healers, our Innervate suffered a big hit, now imagine if you continue rolling LBs on multiple tanks.
The problem is as it currently stands the Bloom of LB is a bit... stupid. It's a heal you can't control, you can't make it bloom when the target is low, it's almost random, because you can't just time it to bloom when the tank needs. So most of the times it will always be overhealing. And because that after 3 applications of LBs on the target each application is just an enormous waste of mana... I think it's kinda pointless.
Ok, so it might still be good to stack LB on one tank, but more than that?
What I'm worried about is that Healing with a Druid was still a micromanagement play style, it showed the difference between the good and average players. Now Blizzard wants to make all Healing classes the same. It seems they don't want us to be the HoT Healer with some Direct Heals but they want us to be a Direct Healing class with some HoTs. Isn't that a Priest to begin with? Really... I play with a Tree Healer because it's a change from other healers, making all the stuff the same just kills the purpose of rolling different classes. If we can't fill the niche of Burst reduction healers with rolling LBs and with this change making LB not only more expensive, not only a lot more unpredictable but also... kinda almost useless multi-target wise... What's the point really?
Yay... a small buff to PvP, a Big nerf in playstyle to PvP.
This my friends is the continuing effort of Blizzard always following the easy way out. Making all the classes almost the same. Mana regen is stupid at the moment in the game. I think no class should need Replenishment to be effective in terms of mana regen. Each player should be abble to manage his own mana. For me I would remove replenishment from the game and would give Shadow Priests again an ability to return mana, but not so powerfull like it was on TBC. I would revert the mana regen nerf, this way you would have something to manage... You could time your heals so you could regen more. Don't you find that fun? If they wan't to go with this nerf to OOC mana regen, at least remove OOC regen from the game, what's the point really? You will have to drink between each pull anyway...
When Healing is still one aspect of the game that still lacks a lot of love and players... (we all know how hard is to find one when we want to do Heroics and stuff) changing play styles and making all the classes the same is not the way to go to me.
Please, Discuss and sorry for the Wall of Text.

Ending heal grows with the stacks.
Mana is refunded for the number of stacks, and based on base-cost of the spell. Meaning if you use it in tree-form and let it bloom, it'll be cheaper than it was before.
The only thing that is nerfed (not in healing throughput but mana efficiency) is rolling LB's on 3-4 tanks at a time, which was indeed somewhat overpowered when you look at the amount of hps it resulted in (even if it wasn't all effective healing), the cost to maintain, and the ability we had to use other heals in that window.
Basically we will probably keep them rolling on the MT but will have to think about what we do with other targets. Previously there was execution skill in optimally maintaining the hots, now there will be skill in decision making.

I still would like to know (because I couldnt find this out myself) which of the following does "number of applications" mean.
I apply a full lifebloom stack (3) and then refresh it once before it blooms. Now I've casted the spell four times, and it blooms.
Will I get...
mana worth of 50% of full stack (3) lifeblooms
mana worth of 50% of all casts (4) lifeblooms
If it's the second one, this shouldn't be much of a nerf at all. When you run out of mana and you have three stacks rolling on three tanks which have been refreshed zillion times, just let one bloom and you should get large chunk of mana back. If it's the first one... OMG NERF QQ MOAR ON PTR FORUMS

This is another step towards the "normalising" of classes isn't it?
Our, what i would call, defineing healing spell changed so it's in-efficient to roll Lb's on a single tank due to the mana refund only occuring on the Bloom part, and the cost of the spell doubling. Aswell as the buff to our "flash heal" spell (read:nourish) with the Natures Bounty talent mod.
Idk, i enjoyed healing as a druid because it was completely different from any other style.
Thats how i see it, and i dont like where it's heading.

I couldn't agree more.
First of all the nerf to spirit in general is basically removing half the play style from Priests and Druids. The desire to stay outside the FSR for spirit healers is about as desirable for Paladins ans Shamans to do the same. I agree that mana regen thus far in Wrath has been a joke, but once again blizz takes the easy way out and just homogenizes abilities. I wouldn't care so much if I wasn't starting to feel like a paladin.
Seconly, about Lifebloom. The new effect changes and the changes to DKs make 3.1 a substancial buff to resto Druids in PvP. However, in PvE, the utility in rolling three-stacks on multiple people has been reduced drastically. Just like you said, because Lifebloom blooms so late after the initial cast letting it bloom is almost ALWAYS overhealing (maybe they could work this mechanic in with Living Seed?) and thus worthless to let bloom.
Thirdly, the changes to Nourish and talents that effect it. With all the new abilities that effect Nourish I can't help but think that our new main spell is going to change from Lifebloom to Nourish... A direct heal. I feel as if blizzard is changing our main way of healing from HoTs to Nourish while our HoTs simply exist to, through 4 piece set bonus/glyph, buff Nourish's healing value.
I have no doubt that druids will still remain competitive healers doing exactly what they have been doing since BC, just with some extra mana issues. The thing that bothers me most about this is that if changes like these continue to occur, in a year or two every class is going to be essentially the same class. Blizzard needs to figure out new ways of balancing abilities without turning them into something another class already has.

Now we got to do something else then keep up 3 lifebloom+ revju and sometime regrowth? Well it was kind of easy (even on 3 -4 tanks)so we maybe get the good old challenging WoW back
well PTR is not done yet! and nerf to pve lifebloom/regrowth but hey! nourish is better now=)
edit: Gorefiend yes you see it right

Bleh. What i see is a lot of people who seem to be saying that they are never going to use Lifebloom again. As for the normalisation thing, we keep a lot of hots, and will have to do some fun timming with Lifeblooms and decide what and when to stack. I'm really not afraid of normalisation at this point.

It is ludicrous and is Balancing just for the sake of Balancing.
Completely uncalled for.
They seem to want all healers to be the same. Keep pushing nourish on us and even take this step so we might use that lame spell.
Soon enough all healers will be spamming like a Paladin, I would be on it when it is all said and done.

But Paladins still don't have real HoTs, so.. we've got that over them. >.>

Seems like they really want to push nourish on us, by nerfing regrowth and lifebloom. I dunno about you, but if i wanted to spam a FoL-type spell i would have rolled a pally. Hopefully they will realize that this change is stupid and will remove it before 3.1 goes live.
