1000g is the same as 20 respecs at max cost (50g) and that's not including the cost of re-glyphing each time.
It's a bargain!

Sons of Hodir dailies give ~150g Grizzly hills dailies give ~90g Solizar (sp) basin gives ~40g, heroic dungeon ~20g that is ~300g in one day from dailies and there are more dailies i didnt mention, i only mentioned the ones i do for rep grinding. there are ebon blade dailies in icecrown, those weird walrus men dailies, one at the dragon tower, 2 at the nexus. need i go on?
Except the Sons of Hodir dailies give only 83g, Grizzly Hills dailies are mostly PvP related (and not everyone PvP's), and you get about 4 times less then what you said from heroics. And there's almost no reason to run them at all after you become exalted with the "important"
factions
.
Anyways, I still think that 1000g is perfectly fine, and most people should easily gather enough money for it.
I just don't need dual spec since I (almost) never respec.
I admit i may need to check the sons of hodir again, but the grizzly hills dailies can be done without coming in contact with an alliance/horde. as for the heroic dungeon i was referring to the daily not how much you will make in the dungeon.

Dual-speccing is something that I will take advantage of even though my respec cost is still at 20g I think. To have the option of switching to healing for a group quest or dungeon. Even if it's just running an old BC heroic with a dps friend it's really hard to find a healer to go with you. I could just pick up a set of rep gear to heal in and be fine for that.
The options that it opens up are nearly endless and at this point in the game I really only have to save up for enchants, more mounts and pets, and the occasional flask. I can still do decent dps as a feral tank and I don't pvp that much (just to gain marks for more mounts) so daily respeccing for pvp or dailies has never been an issue for my main. I may find this more useful for an alt once they get high enough but I'm willing to spend 1k on it for my druid for the options and convenience.

I'm still waiting to see if it means they'll want me to heal all the time (which I currently do pretty much) or if they'll have so many other people able to heal at a moment's notice, that I'll be able to DPS more often.

Gah this raises the money I need to 7k... 5000 for flight, 1000 for cold weather and now 1000 more for dual speccs....I'm never gonna be able to afford all of this.

I respecc a hell of a lot, between resto, balance, and feral kitty pvp. But Ive still only spent 1150G in total on repeccing :S
I'm purely getting this for convenience for Gear switching, Action bar saving and talent point allocating.

For 1000g there should no longer be any cost incurred while changing or adjusting talent points to suit your needs.
Or
Eliminate the need for all of this by buffing tanks and healers with some good damage so there is no need for respecing to quest or level. To make this ability unavailable to the lower levels is an obsured notion seeing as how lowbies learning their class and leveling at the same time are the ones who would need this ability the most.
Level 80 toons regardless of spec do enough damage and have enough talent points to put a few into some damage talents so that they dont need to respec everytime they wanna do some dailies which is the one and only reason dual specs would be remotely useful.
The option to Dual spec should become UN-available at 80 as it is no longer needed once you reach that level.
You sir, are a noob.
Try speccing FULL Holy/Resto and see how well you can grind out those dailies, or try speccing Elemental/Prot/Frost/Fire and see how well you do at PvP.
This is meant for raiders and hardcore PvPers
Also, if tanks and healers can do good damage why the need for the other specs then?
What happens if your a hybrid class, your in a 10 man naxx (or any other ten man). Your healer/tank DC's and one of your raid members say's "His power is out, won't be back for another hour or two". Do you
a)Wait for another healer/tank to log on?
b) Go spam trade chat looking for a PuG tank/healer
or
c) pick up a pure DPS class from your guild, and switch specs to a tank/healer.
STOP QQing about Dual Spec, most likely if your whining. ITS NOT FOR YOU

1000g seems little to me, compared to the costs of getting flying + northrend flying + epic flying + mounts. At the end of the day it is entirely optional - if you never respec anyway, don't bother, and for those that respec frequently, go for it.
I don't respec often at the moment not because of the gold but because of the hassle, so for me 1000g is not a lot to farm when you can get 300g from dailies a day before you even sell all the junk you get whilst doing it or before any profession profit for that day etc.
So I will happily spend 1000g for time and convenience of being able to offer both dps + healing to any group and double my usefulness :)
If you put your mind to it many 80s can farm 1000g in a day or two but even for those who don't really like farming of have a lot of time to spend it really shouldn't take much more than a week to get.
