This is true, wowhead should be required reading for all characters level 1-20. It quickly becomes required reading for all characters higher than that. ^o^
This message brought to you by the Campaign to prevent n00bishness.
Recent n00blet moment on our server:
(After being asked why he is meleeing mobs and has no pet)
"Waiting to a gun, I don't want to use bows. We get a pet?"~Level 15 hunter in the Barrens.

My biggest n00b moment?
Not understanding the need v. greed system, and inadvertantly ninja'ing almost all of my first WC run. I couldn't understand why people were getting so pissed off!?!
Good times.
Ya, I did the same thing in SFK, people kept getting mad at me for rolling need on cloth as a warrior and had no idea why until it was explained to me.

Possible spoiler to follow
Biggest profession n00b moment:
"You mean I can just keep casting the same enchant on my gear to imp my Enchanting skill??"
Biggest lore n00b moment:
"Holy shit, you mean Katrana Prestor is actually Onyxia?!"
<after getting AoE'd to death in the throne room in Stormwind>
Biggest leveling n00b moment
"SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
<after flying from Stormwind to Ironforge after dinging low 40s and noticing the enemies in Burning Steppes are no longer marked with a skull>

When I was leveling my very first character, a Gnome Warrior (I thought is was amusing), I had quite a few noobish moments.
For one, when I first discovered the "rested experience" mechanic. I noticed that my experience bar was blue instead of purple. 200% experience from monsters killed? Yes please!
So, I'd run into the inn, wait for it to give me the "You feel rested." message, run outside and kill a boar. I had though it was timed, so my thought after I killed it was "YES! Barely made it!" When infact I only earned an extra 3 or so experience because of my short time in the inn.
When I figured that all out, I laughed at myself for a bit and I still think it was amusing.
Another one is small and I'm sure EVERYONE has been a victim of it when they first started playing. Going to different auctioneers becuase they believe that they all have different items in with them.

My biggest n00b moment happened when I was leveling my first toon through loch modan and I picked up the quest to make a delivery to SW. I didn't know about the tram between IF and SW so I look at the world map and started trying to make the trek through Badlands, needless to say it didn't end well.
Oh man, I second that. I remember constantly rezzing and dying just to try to get to SW through Badlands. At the time I was talking to some friends on vent and I asked them to run me to SW. I felt like a complete noob when they started laughing at me and just told me to take the Deeprun Tram.
Good times.

You know your a noob if...
- You ask what threat is after 60
- You didn't train all your skills and miss an important one.
-You beg for gold
-You pick gear for the way it looks, instead of the stats on it.
I could go on and on :P

All that effort I put into killing Illidan to prove I'm not a noob was wasted? Well, crap. :(
