Never said they were the last. And, were not for the Greeks, rational though would not be what it is today. Marxism ain't enough? How about Alexism, it's my philosophy, it basically says that there's no such thing as hope for mankind, brand new too. Should be in stores near you really soon, :F.

Yeah, the scientific method is a BIG one. If it weren't for the Greeks we'd probably be still throwing people tied to rocks in lakes to see if they're witches.

It means that philosophy is never old, because everyone has one. Therefore, it's never old or stuck.

Ok... I'm going to point out that what you are speaking about generally came AFTER the greeks... chronologically...

But only after the Enlightenment did we wise up to how inane and backwards our actions were. I can't believe I am helping TheMediator.

No doubt. I was just saying the Greeks didn't come along and stop witch burning.

Welcome back Uglybunny, I heard so much about you :D. Laihendi is still around, I don't think anyone left. blademeld and interest both have over 9k posts. And a lot of new people came (including me :P).
Piece of trivia: I was there when the forums where created, but I didn't like them for some reason, so I left, then came back (I don't remember what made me come back :D)

The modern (developed in the Renaissance) scientific method is based on Aristotle's scientific method. And the Renaissance was inspired by the Greeks so the Greeks kind of double dip the chip on that one.

But, at that time, wasn't it the Arabs who brought the Greek information up, though? :o It's been a while since history class...

I didn't eat, I inhaled food to break down the complex carbohydrates into sugars which can be used by my mitochondria for respiration.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the same thing?
You know, besides the inhaling part.
