I don't think it is possible to "sensationalize" nuclear news.
I think the people who are racist against Koreans, and war monger due to that, or for any reason, are a pretty small and uniformed minority.
In my mind, I weigh two possible realities. The reality we have, where the news does sensationalize some things, but I can use my common sense while reading a blend of sources to come to the truth. The other reality, is one where the news doesn't print stuff like the North Korean threats, because they sensor themselves for what they think the people should not be hearing.
These two realities are polar opposites, but I prefer the one that allows the dumbest of us to be misled, and say dumb things, than the one that keeps us in the dark.
To summarize: I don't see the benefit in not reporting news worthy events due to the ability to interpret the news in a negative fashion, even with the acknowledged fact that the news will sensationalize when they can.
I'd argue that blowing something out of proportion
is
sensationalising it.
Why are the only possibilities those two options? Your deduction is most admirable, but regrettably not shared by all. When this sensationalism actively encourages the (public, feeding into the political sphere) escalation of emotion in a delicate political situation, it makes it more precarious. To be honest, if a conflict does emerge, I think it will be Kim Jong Un misinterpreting a planned pre-emptive strike on NK and beginning its own, or by seeing itself as attacked and using that to justify a war. Regardless, it's a war that it cannot win.
Also, I'm sure 12 years ago, it could have been argued that war-mongering Americans for action in the Middle East and Afghanistan were in the minority. Didn't stop the wars from taking place.

I feel those wars were justified, just carried out improperly. We needed a stormin Norman approach. But, I digress, if people themselves are stupid enough to war monger.... well... they also vote like idiots. I can't account for people's actions. I still don't think it is the new's fault/responsibility. I do not like how they focus on shootings. I think that instigates crazy people, to some degree. I don't think so many people who instigate shootings if they felt they were alone. How come?
Because you aren't even coming close to understanding what I am saying.

The Americans were in the minority, or specifically Americans who wanted more? Because I can tell you that a LOT of Americans wanted war in the Middle East.

To be honest, if a conflict does emerge, I think it will be Kim Jong Un misinterpreting a planned pre-emptive strike on NK and beginning its own, or by seeing itself as attacked and using that to justify a war.
To be clear here, you just justified NK (one of the most, if not the most radical, inhumane, Human Rights violating, countries on Earth, ran by a borderline insane dictator) for starting what has the potential to be either WWIII, or a conflict that could cost the lives of millions of people.
Look, If the US actually wanted to invade NK, they would have done it already. The threats they have made over the years, and the skirmishes, and the sinking of the SK ship a few years ago...all violated the armistice. This isn't 1953...our current military could demolish NK in a matter of days if we wanted too. The fact is...we don't want too. It is not of any interest to us to fight them...they are doing a perfectly good job of destroying their country themselves by continuously ignoring the UN sanctions against them.
There is no 'threat', real or perceived, to NK by the US. The only threat to them is from their own insane actions. If Kim really believes that we are out to get them, he is delusional, nothing less. If a war does come of this, it is because either he is psychotic, or because he wants a war, so he can go out with a bang, rather than continue to let his country rot, like it has for the last 60 years.
As for why SK doesn't seem too concerned...that is because they know that we are there. Do you think their opinion would be the same if we didn't have missile defense systems in place to save their ass if Kim does push the button?

Meh, its not gonna come to that. So much as 1 shell touches Seoul, and NK becomes the world's largest parking lot. They know it, we know it, everyone knows it.
The dogs that bark the loudest, are also the ones that bite the least.
its the quiet ones you gotta look out for. Sneaky little bastards is what they are.

It's funny to me that his attempts at peacekeeping turn into even bigger arguments than the one he was
trying
to resolve. Or I guess get in the middle of. This is the first time in a long time that I've agreed with Adams.

I thought it was great that two of the kids on Bob's Burgers are doing voices on Archer.
And there is just something about Kristen Schaal's voice. It's like I hate it, yet love it at the same time. And it gets weirder when you hear her speak in person. It's like you think she changes her voice when doing shows, but she doesn't.

And Bob is Archer.
But its more like the other way around. Archer was around before Bob's Burgers.
