That's worse, isn't it.
We all make mistakes. What of it?

wait, are you not the biological dad?
I have a son, and a step daughter.
Holy crap, we got more in common than I thought. In my case is reversed though, I have a daughter and a step son....... or rather......... aww crap, its complicated.
My wife had a kid before meeting me, but the relationship with the boy's father didn't work (he's a complete and total prick) and after they went their separate ways, he managed to get custody of the boy, so the kid only gets to spend time with us every other weekend.
I still love him as if he was my own flesh and blood, and make it a point to never show any favoritism between him and my little princess. But sadly he doesn't see me as a father U_U for him I'm just his "mom's boyfriend".
Still, no complaints, at least we get along great, even if he doesn't see me as a paternal figure.

That's pretty close to my situation. My wife has custody, though. So, I'm raising her as a parental figure. I make sure she does her schoolwork, cleans her room, brushes her teeth, pay for braces, etc. The real dad takes her out for laser tag. Guess who she likes more? Anyway, I can't wait till she grows up, and looks back. She won't remember the laser tag, but she will remember all the work I went though to be her not-my-real-dad.

I can't have any say on the raising of Daniel, I barely get to see him every 13 days, and even then, since he lives in a different state (we live in Zulia, Reina's ex lives on Lara, which is about 5 hours out) I can't see him often. Though I do try my best to bond with him as much as I can when I see him.
Sometimes "the ex" (Raymundo) brings daniel here so he can spend time with his mom and half-sister, but most times its my wife who has to go to Lara to get to see him. I admire her strength to be able to endure this. I try to imagine what would it be like to not see my little girl for 13 days at a time and I shudder, just thinking about it.
Hell, when my wife goes to visit her parents in Caracas and takes annie with her, the 2 of them are away for just 1 week, and that, for me, is the WORST WEEK OF THE YEAR, I hate that week with a passion. And that's just 7 frikking days, now imagine 13 days, and that out of all the 365 days that a year has, less than I'd get to see her less than 50 of those.
That would DEFINITELY suck.

When I first met/lived with my step-mum I didn't like her, but I was a 10/11 year old little snot. I now love and appreciate her like a parent.
Time heals most wounds.
Also, why didn't you comment on my hilarious picture!

Skype? Might need some arranging and leaving over the day depending on connections but it's free, fairly easy and shouldn't be throttled.
I do know of Skype, but with Rankkors internet connection, the transfer might take a whole day or two, and unfortunately, I can not let my home pc running for that long. Don't ask why.
Dropbox maybe?
Will try if the method I use now doesn't work.
At the end of the day, I can always just give rank temporary access to my GOG account, and he can download it directly from their site.
On the topic about step-fathers, I actually have one too. He started going out with my mom when I was like 13 (10 years ago), and he moved in I think 8-7 years ago or so. He never really tried to force himself into the role of a father figure, which I am grateful for. He was just there when I needed him, which was very, very rarely, and he was also there to support my mother in some parenting things when my mom felt like I would accept a lesson from a man better than from her, which was also very rarely. I was rather independent as a teenager. The only "scolding" I ever got from my mom was about the time I spend on computer, otherwise I didn't really do anything bad or overly rebellious.
Also, they took their time before they actually married. It was three weeks ago. We had a nice (and reasonably small) family meeting of my sister with her husband, me with my SO, my grandma, mother with Peter (name of my step-father) of course, and Peter's son from previous marriage. I am cool with his son too, he likes fantasy and stuff, but he is not as much into it as I am (I do not personally know anybody who would be as much into fantasy/sci-fi books and games as I am.). We used to play pen-and-paper RPG games together. My step-father would actually try to join us occasionally in our RPG sessions, but his imagination is... not the best, so it was sort of clunky, but hey, we all tried.
I was just sort of writing what came to my mind here, without any point that I would try to get to. It's hard to tell where I should end the paragraph when I do that.

No need for that. You'll be glad to know that it worked. It took 23 hours but the file is downloaded, the game was installed, and it ran without problems.
Now I get to see what the big fuss is all about :P
On a personal note: damn the protagonist looks ugly :S I guess I've been too pampered by today's "Customize everything regarding gender race and aspect of your protagonist" in RPGs, so having to play an old-school one with a fixed, non-customizable appereance (that really looks hideous) is a bitter drink.
But hey, I'll endure it, I've played games with even uglier protagonists before (God of War comes to mind)
What stats should I put in the character creation? I mean Elhonna told me that this is not a very combat-heavy game, that we mostly talk, so should I invest my points in social stats? (Int, Cha, wis) if so which one do I prioritize?

Just start the game with 18WIS and 18INT and put the rest into CHA. You start off as a Warrior, but you can change your class to Mage or Rogue through quests (and you can always revert to a class you have already "unlocked"). FYI, the setup with maxed WIS, INT and CHA is viable for
all the classes
. A vast majority of exp in Torment comes from dialogues, and with those stats that high, you will have more than enough stat points (You get additional stat points when you level up.) to become an uber strong warrior or.... a rogue. I do not recommend rogue at all btw. Go mage or warrior.
Btw the class changing thing only applies to the main character. And as you go through the story, you will know why the guy is so hideous. I wouldn't want him any other way.

While I'd love to know you personally, that is not the case yet, man. :V

Same here in Slovakia. We had snow yesterday. It is just cloudy now, without any crap falling down, but the temperature is so cold that yesterdays snow turned into icy crusts. What the hell are you doing here in April, cold weather. Go to Sweden.
