Ok folks, an update on the Venezuela situation.
Lol, I really need to keep up on my own laws. But ever since Chavez got into power, our constitution has been amended, edited, hotfixed, retconed, buffed, nerfed, tweaked, and adjusted, that I have no idea where does it starts nor where it ends.
Literally every day they'd remove or add a new article to it, or edit/tweak an old article on it.
Well, turns out we MAY have some good changes quicker than expected.
On my last post I had told you guys that for the time being we're screwed, because even though Chavez died, he had won the October presidential elections, thus putting the PCV in power, so even in death, the PCV is still in power and we'd have to wait till the next elections, 7 years from now before we have another chance to put someone from the UNT in the presidential seat.
Turns out that's how the OLD law worked, chavez had made (as usual) another change to the constitution without consulting with the people, there was no voting on this. If a president dies before his term is up, rather than the Vice-president being sworn in to fill in his office till the end of that constitutional period, we will have again presidential elections.
At first I was like "ohh yeah, what good that'll do? I bet that since the president that died was PCV, that means only PCV candidates can run for presidency, so its just the PCV choosing who's gonna rule"
Turns out that's not the case, we're having ACTUAL presidential elections, the whole campaign, and anyone from any political party can run for presidency, which means Capriles, can run again, and hopefully actually win this time (Which I'm actually somewhat optimistic, since Capriles Vs Chavez ended up in Chavez having a victory with just a 10% margin. So Capriles against a much less powerful candidate SHOULD win).
For the time being, we're having 7 days of national mourning (enforced at gunpoint by national guards, the army, and the police, public displays of celebration are not allowed, if you wanna celebrate, do so behind closed doors, and without making much noise) and then 30 days from now, they'll announce the date of the next presidential elections.
Wish us luck folks, we may actually have some improvement quicker than expected. Of course, Chavez had established quite a cult to himself before kicking the bucket, there's a LOT of brainwashed idiots who genuely did followed him, and no matter how hard they were smitten by the whips, they just kept asking for more, the guy is really good at this brainwashing stuff, so those zombies "could" (I'm hoping not) still outnumber the actual sane people. We'll see.

Rankorr, does that mean we're going to see Venezuelans crying, screaming, and banging the sidekick asking "¿POR QUÉ SE MURIÓ EL PRESIDENTE?" on television like the North Koreans after King Jong Il died?
Also, I gotta be honest: When I heard about his death, literally the first thing I thought to myself was, "Rankorr will sure as hell be happy about this!" I think you're the only Venezuelan I know!(##RESPBREAK##)524##DELIM##MasterOfDisguise##DELIM##

Haven't there already been footages and photos of that? I saw some people on Facebook talking about it but I didn't check, and I don't watch the news so I could easily miss it.

You are correct.
The media is going crazy here. You'll have to take my word for this, but there's been A TON of people genuinely happy about his death, but any displays of public celebrations are forbidden (at gunpoint may I add) and all the footage that is allowed to go in the air is of women crying, and people mourning.
Selective broadcasting to paint an image that isn't really there. Just about everyone I know is DAMNED HAPPY that he's gone, but we gotta keep it to ourselves, or if celebrating, be discreet and do it behind closed doors.
As you and Thror said, the North Koreans did the exact same thing when Kim Il-sung died, and then again when Kim Jong-il died, and the same will happen when Kim Jong-un dies eventually.
Its scary to see how similar we're becoming to North Korea, except we don't have any nukes, or nuclear super-power to back up all that hot air being spewed by the PCV, so if they ever decide to bite instead of bark, we're gonna get F***ED really hard, really fast.
Also, I gotta be honest: When I heard about his death, literally the first thing I thought to myself was, "Rankorr will sure as hell be happy about this!"
Awww so you do think of me =D that's shooooo shweeeet.

Yeah the media is messed up. My dad was watching the world news while I was making dinner and they were talking to people about his death.
The only people they had were those that supported him. One lady said "Chavez isn't dead, he still lives on in me and many others".
They even had something from the VP saying that Chavez would vote for Obama and he was sure Obama would vote for Chavez.

Myself though, ugh, don't know how many of you I've told this to, but I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, which causes mood swings and feelings of depression, usually around March. It is really hard to wrestle with.

Rank, I think you'd make a great president. You could enforce video games at gunpoint! Only quality games, of course, but I imagine you'd work very well! Venezuela would at the very least be much more fun.

The liberals are all swooning over the loss of their great socialist leader:
Sean Penn
Jimmy Carter
Michael Moore
Oliver Stone
Of Chavez, Penn said one of the most important forces we’ve had on this planet, and I’ll wish him nothing but that great strength he has shown over and over again. I do it in love, and I do it in gratitude."
These guys are so @#$%ing stupid. Venezuala, a great failure of socialism, headed by a crooked and evil man. People will look past failure, to avoid having to admit they are wrong. They fight their own cognitive dissonance with passionate idiocy.

He was a big fan of SWTOR after it had clearly died (1st big content patch) and nothing I said changed his mind. If I had been forced into playing it after that point I would have called him a dictator

Yep, I can't recall a single member of the opposition saying that s/he's happy about his death being allowed to say so on TV/Radio/Internet/Press. To do so after they warned you is to paint a big bullseye on the back of your head.
They even had something from the VP saying that
Chavez would vote for Obama
and he was sure Obama would vote for Chavez.
Nicolas Maduro is by far the most stupid man I've ever know, his entire shtick is being Chavez's number 1 boot-licker, and now that his master and overlord is dead, he's been bipolar saying all sorts of stupid crap, from "The US government was the one who poisoned Chavez with cancer" to "we must show no hatred nor vengeance, only love" (Only to deploy the troops nation-wide to prevent any public celebrations from taking place)
And now he says that. Chavez......... voting for Obama.............. after all the poisonous bile of hate that monster dedicated the past 15 years to spew about the US (he was literally incapable of NOT insulting the US, its people, and its government, at least once a day, on public television, calling them once a "nation of motherf******)
So, there is only one reaction I can have of Maduro now saying "Chavez would had voted for Obama, and Obama would had voted for him".
This
is the only reaction I can have to something like that.
Yeah, I've been meaning to congratulate you on that Rank. :P
Thanks man.

Ahh don't worry about it. I didn't knew you had that, it must suck =/ but still, no biggie.

DAMN STRAIGHT!
If I was president, Venezuela would become THE biggest Gamer Nation on Earth (Taking that position away from South Korea)
I'd add mandatory videogame training as part of the school education system, make E-sports (Such as Starcraft, Wow, and League of Legends) our national sport, open the doors to any videogame developing industry wishing to make a business here, and turns this place into a South American Videogamer Haven.
These guys are so @#$%ing stupid.

No kidding. In the past 10 years alone, our currency has devaluated so much the government had to do a desperate bandaid measure to pretend we weren't at a crisis, they shaved off 3 zeros of our currency, and called it "strong bolivar" (So 1000 old bolivares would be equal to 1 strong bolivar) to hide the fact that our economy was so screwed up it was quite impossible to buy anything at all that wasn't produced here.
10 years ago: 1 US Dollar = 1500 Bolivares
Today: 1 US dollar =
7000 BOLIVARES
that's how low our currency has sinked, and keeps getting lower and lower by the month. Black markets have thrived, corruption has spread like wild fire, crime has risen like never before, places like Sabaneta are more full now than ever (at the time I was thrown in there, it had 11000 prisoners, in a place designed for 3000, today it houses about 17000. Over 60% of those prisoners have been in there for more than 2 years and are STILL AWAITING TRIAL. Most die before their trial can even begin, and after found non-guilty, the government will still NOT EVEN PAY THE FUNERAL EXPENSES to the relatives of an innocent man, sent to that INFERNAL HELLHOLE to die. For nothing.
To say that this country has gone to hell ever since chavez took over would be as much an understatement as to say "Elevators Elevate"

but who says I'd force you to play it? I never hid all the many flaws of SWTOR, and even when Mytie joined a few weeks back I did warned him that if he left wow for all those reasons he stated a while back, SWTOR would also drive him away once he finished the main story. To this day I hold SWTOR as the model of how NOT to run an MMO. Its like its devs made mistake and mistake and mistake after mistake, as an experiment on how much you can screw up and still have customers. If SWTOR's story wasn't so good, most players would had long since GTFO.
I never force anyone to play any game, I recommend a good game, and also warn against bad or subjective games. Its not my fault that so many of my online fans end up playing what I play to see what the fuzz is about ^_^
