Have you tried turkey bacon El? It is a great substitute if you want a healthier version.
My mom is on a diet so she eats it, and the one brand we tried was Jennie-O. It was good and it crisp up like regular bacon.
Turkey bacon doesn't have the joy of eating pig, and rejoice at knowing there's all kind of people who can't.

Honestly, dieting = no bacon. I'm ok with it- I like it, but if I am eating healthy I'm not worried about having any kind of near-bacon substitute. I just don't understand people who don't even like it.

Well it's not really bacon, it's just turkey breast that is treated like bacon. But since they use breast meat it is real lean. They still cure it like they do pork belly when they make bacon.

One can make bacon out of a turkey? Trollfucious wonders if KFC could make bacon out of the glorious extra crispy style chicken?
But it would confuse people. One would order extra crispy bacon, and they would not know if you wanted the extra crispy chicken bacon, or the bacon cooked extra crispy, or the extra crispy chicken bacon cooked extra crispy. All drive-throughs would become backed up.

I love bacon. I have bacon with my over-easy eggs and sourdough toast every Monday morning.
Growing up, my mommy would deep fry our bacon. It was soooo gooooood.

Or..did the person want the extra crispy chicken cooked extra crispy before being turned into extra crispy chicken bacon cooked extra chrispy....

American bacon is all wrong. You guys just make pig-flavoured cardboard.
I know right? I was thinking the same thing when I saw Elhonna describe bacon as "rubbery".
Here in my country, bacon is often eaten completely uncooked, with bread. Like ham. And it is not rubbery at all :V

Do you know that at the last couple of trade shows I went to, they were starting to show chocolate covered bacon products?

I've seen it around. I've seen people have bacon doughnuts. The saltiness of the bacon is nice with the sweetness of the chocolate/doughnut.
It's all about the contrasting flavors. I made a marinade last night that had honey and Worcestershire sauce with some spices added in. My mom said it tasted great. I thought it tasted good.
