I have severe itch to play Skyrim right now.
So do I.

My wife is a Sims3 addict. It's a good match for her. She can spend hours matching different patterns and colors onto the same couch, and seeing how it matches a certain lamp shade. That stuff isn't my, uhm, cup of tea. I like playing it to see how fast I could get rich doing the various jobs, but after that it just seemed a bit tedious.
That is a very addicting game. Me AND my wife got hooked up real badly on it.
Thankfully, the fever died down, but I think that's the one game, other than Mass Effect that I've sinked more hours playing.
Yes, even more than World of Warcraft.

I've put more hours into EverQuest than any other game. I put about 4 years into that game. Ages 18-22. That game was really fun. I tried it again, but it has lost its appeal.
I liked EQ for the same reason I liked Skyrim when it first came out, but EQ moreso. The world was huge, and explorable. The more time I spent discovering, and leveling, the more places there were to see. I could spend days painfully grinding out a character till it was good enough to go to another location, and then another and then another... and when I went back to those first locations, I'd feel a lot of nastalgia about the days I had spent in the other locations, and the people that I had spent with them there.
What is really cool, for me at least, is that I remember specifics. I don't remember stuff very well. I have a horrible memory. It's actually bothersome because, unlike people who say they don't have a good memory, I actually have a very very poor memory.... as in there is something psychologically broken with my memory. I can't remember things my kids did in the past. It's painful when my wife asks me if I remember some cute thing my kids did and I have absolutely no recollection of it. I can't remember names, dates, faces, numbers, most anything.
But, I can remember stuff in video games. Something about the way they stimulate my brain activates my memory. I can remember in vivid detail grinding out levels with Swizzlestick on Mons. I remember the first time the spectres on the island in oasis killed me. I remember that the cobblestone path leading away from Qeynos has a diamond shaped rock in it. To me, that's pretty important, that I can remember that. I guess, the flip side of that coin, is that world that I remember is gone, and I can't find anything that seems to compliment it.

Runescape for 5 years and WoW behind it with a little under two years. I would have played WoW even longer if only I could, but having to use dial-up for the years before wow and not having any Internet now kind of hindered that.

It's a good investment, I think. I really like it, and I would recommend playing the paid version because the FTP has too many nitpicky annoying restrictions.

Yeah.... That's what I'm gonna do. Gonna be epic. Does anyone here still play it?

Not right now. When I finish Skyrim, and the content from the next patch, I might boot it up and finish some of the story. Was almost done with my agent, and was really interested in finished a couple of the other stories.

I wasn't thrilled with the previous ones I tried, but Skyrim was much better IMO.

Yeah don't go F2P, the game is unplayable. Either go Prefered (which is, buy something, anything, you're still free2play, but less restrictive) or go Subscriber.
Full F2P is simply not playable in any way shape or form.

Errr so and so.
As far as story goes, you're gonna get A LOT of mileage out of your money considering how many stories are there, and how good they are. As an actual MMO that you wanna keep playing after getting to the level cap and completing your story however, SWTOR is VERY lacking.
And I mean VERY VERY lacking. Pretty much if you can't stand wow, SWTOR is much much worse.
On the endgame anyways. Leveling up is a ton of fun due to how amazing the stories are.
Yeah.... That's what I'm gonna do. Gonna be epic. Does anyone here still play it?
I do, here and there, Thing is: the game is divided in two sections, Leveling up, and what you do at the level cap.
As I said before the latter just sucks, the former is THE BEST you're ever gonna find in an MMO. Period.
But the leveling itself is also divided into different sections:
Class Story (these are AWESOME)
Planet-Stories (there are so-so, not so bad, but not that good either, some planets are great, others are gonna make you wish you were dead. *coughtatootinecough*)
Side-quests (Boring as frick, they're just as bad as those random fetch quests used by wow and every other MMO.)
Bonus Series (Obtained once you beat the main story of a planet, these are also very boring, but at least their rewards are pretty outstanding)
Now, here's the problem: Only your class story variates. The rest is the same.
So level up an Imperial Agent from 1 to 50 and its gonna be pretty awesome.
Then level up a Sith Inquisitor from 1 to 50 and while the class story will be different, the planet story quests, the side quests, and the bonus series quests are all gonna be the same. So doing the same stuff AGAIN, feels like a chore. And sadly 90% of the quests are made up of planet/side/bonus quests. Your Class quests (the real awesomeness of SWTOR) only make up about 10% of your leveling experience.
If there was a way to gain enough XP to just do your class quests and bypass the rest (*coughheirloomscough*) I Would gladly level every class to 90.
But as it stands, after beating the imperial side once on my agent, I cant bear to do it all again on my inquisitor. So I'm leveling my inquisitor the slow way. I do 1 daily dungeon and 1 daily Battleground to complete the daily BG and Daily Dungeon quests. I've been doing this every day for the past month and so far I'm in the mid 30s without having to do those dreadful planet/side/bonus quests. Just my class quests which are the ones that are awesome.
Bottom Line: You can play this game as Republic and have fun, then after getting to 50 and completing the story, level an Imperial to 50 and complete their story. After that........... trying to level another imperial, or another republic, will feel like a massive MASSIVE chore.
I think I might be the only person in the universe that didn't like Skyrim :/ The accents were killing meeee.
I kinda liked the accents :P
