Started to play Dishonored today. Lets see how good is it. I'm highly optimistic because, if anything else, its a new IP rather than a sequel.
As a seasoned gamer, I haven't seen a brand new franchise in years. All the game releases in the past years within recent memory are just sequels and sequels, and spin-offs, and prequels, and sequels. So I'm really excited to see a brand new IP and hopefully a new franchise be born out of this game.
It does sucks that the protagonist is (yet again) a mute protagonist, save for some grunts and howls. After playing Mass Effect and Metal Gear, I just can't stand playing a mute protagonist, I NEED to hear him or her speak.
However, for an assassin's game, it has some of the most complex and ridiculously over-the-top executions I've ever seen due to its mix of magic and weapons. Like this one:
Guard shot me, I froze time, moved out of the way of the bullet, mindcontrolled the guard to stand in front of his own bullet, released him from the mind control, and unfrozed time, to watch as the guard got gunned down by his own shot :P
AWESOME!

That stuff was to complicated for me. I just went and stabbed everyone.
Are you try for a no-kill or no-detection run?

So far, No-Kill AND No-Detection.
I'm a huge fan of Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, and Hitman, so as a veteran Stealth player, I always want to do the missions as they're meant to be done: As a true ghost, undetectable to the enemy.
Not a huge fan of "no-kill" runs, but I've heard that if you kill everyone, you get a bad ending, so I'm trying to keep as many alive as possible. I'll make exceptions if they are truly horrible people ,but common guards are just guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, most of the time anyways.
As for the complicated kills, I'm also a fan of those. In the Hitman games, I try to go for as complex a kill as I can. While technically you can just run in and gun everyone down, I prefer to go for the creative angle, like that mission where I had to kill an actor performing a play set in WWII, and I replaced the prop gun for an authentic (and loaded) german gun, and simply sat down and watched the play :P

Yeah there's 3 different endings. High chaos, low chaos and a no kill run I believe. Ands it not really a bad ending, just a chaotic one.
But if you kill lots of people, there will be more infected people in the streets.
And becareful when laying people down after knocking them out. If you do it I. A bad place, like near a desk or something, their head can hit it and end up dying.
After my first run I tried to do a no kill run, but after I beat the first mission I ended up with one kill. And it must have came from me laying down an unconscious guard against something.
And the spells are awesome to get. Getting Blink 2 really helps a lot with moving around. If you end up killing some, the one that makes the bodies disappear once you kill them will be helpful for the no detection part.
But if you're going for a no kill run, it means no one at all. Even the people you're going after. There are ways of disposing them without killing them. I would give an example, but that would kind of spoil it lol.

So, part of our Australian welfare package is that the government makes a fortnightly payment to people who are unemployed and looking for work. A whole host of people on Facebook are arguing that it's not enough to pay for rent, food, and other costs of living.
From my perspective, however, including rent in there is basically suggesting that the government is paying for you to move out of home and look for a job. I'm struggling to understand why the government should be paying for you to move out of home at all in the first place. Surely spending on schools, on unemployed parents, on national security, even, would be better justified than try to argue that uni graduates have some unalienable right to move out of home and that they NEED welfare to support them if they can't afford it themselves.
Edit: Hax - talking about Newstart, here.
And what about all the non-uni graduates who are looking for work and have already moved out years ago, or graduates that can only hope to find work away from home? I'd imagine that's what the people arguing were more discussing.
No, they lost the right to argue that line when they started using themselves as examples - "I graduated and couldn't find a job for two years", etc.. As far as I'm concerned, while you've got non-aggressive relationships with your family, you shouldn't be going hat in hand to the government for welfare. There is nothing wrong with moving back in with family.
I would rather them cut payments for people who can't justify why they can't live with their own family, and push that money to the welfare receipients who actually NEED need it, such as the unemployed single parents and the like, rather than those who can't afford their own lifestyle choices.

I don't like our welfare programmes.
We need mandatory drug testing before you can get any type of welfare

Wow....a migraine really, really, sucks!
40 years old, and I got the unwanted experience of my first one of those monsters this morning.
I know people that have them constantly, and I can't imagine having that feeling on a consistent basis. I would have traded a broken bone in exchange for that to go away.

I used to get them about once a month, until I figured out I could control them with caffeine. Now, I can bust up the worst of them with a hefty dose of it, and a lot of sleep. Good thing caffeine doesn't keep me awake.

That's actually likely to be a caffeine withdrawal headache, considering, which feels pretty much as bad.
