I am, and that's not something I think I'd be able to condense into 750-1000 words.

True. The problem with picking subjects is that you have to know that they can be condensed and still not feel all too rushed. I've no serious ideas for you, sorry - but good luck!

How do you solve teenage pregnancy and bullying in 750-1000 words though?
Maybe something like child poverty?

Free condoms dispensers at every corner. Repeat until word limit is reached. Or mandatory chastity belts until age of 18-20.
And HiVolt, try to resolve problem of some sort of addiction.
Addiction is something that's being overdone already. Out of the 20 people in the class, about 8 of them are on some form of drug addiction, from caffeine to heroin.
I'm sure that those doing teenage pregnancy and bullying haven't really thought about how far-reaching those subjects are, so they'll probably be focusing on certain circumstances surrounding those topics like the effects on low-income families dealing with teenage pregnancy or cyber-bullying.
I know prison reform is another broad topic, so I think if I narrow it down to reforming the prison system for non-violent offenders, I can probably condense it to 1000 words or so without making it seem rushed. I know entire books have been written on the subject, but well... I don't really know what else I could do without essentially writing the same exact paper as someone else.

How about homelessness?

How about homelessness?
I think I'd be the only one using that as my topic, so that's a good start. The problem with it is that it's another of those really broad subjects. Maybe if I were to narrow it to local-area homelessness, I'd be able to make it a little more detailed. But then, the problem would be in finding source material. Yes, we must cite sources.
Goddamn, this one sucks. Every essay until now has been easy as hell.

Teenage homelessness then? That would probably narrow it down sufficiently, as well as help guide your response in dealing with it.

I think teenage homelessness would work pretty well, actually. Yeah, I'll go with that.
Thanks, Squish. You probably just saved me some serious time.

Well, I've run into a problem already, lol. It's a lack of sources. In looking through my school library's online catalog, which has a huge database, I haven't been able to find any scholarly articles that deal specifically with teenage homelessness without tying it into some other subject like teenage pregnancy, exiting foster care, drug abuse, etc. I understand that those are all underlying reasons for homelessness, but none of the articles that I've found really give any solutions to the problem. They're more investigatory than anything else.
So, sorry Squish, but I think I'll stick with prison reform for non-violent offenders for now. It'll be tough to condense, but I've already found a good amount of source material on the subject.

Haha, oh well. It's a shame that there hasn't been enough research done on it, to be honest.
