Typical U.S. Philosophy:
Sex = Bad
Violence = Good
And we wonder why there's so much crime and hatred in our country. We get it drilled into us from an exceedingly early age that violence and by proxy hatred are okay, and that sex and by proxy love are terrible crimes to the sensibilities of "moral" folks.
Living in this country these days makes me want to vomit. How's Canada looking these days, Adams? I might decide to make a life change.

Lol; well we still get a lot of the same stuff the States has when it comes to entertainment and the like...but law wise, we have things the States don't.

Damn... looks like it's gonna be Europe if I end up deciding to emigrate...
Its my birthday :D
So today I was hanging out with this girl from class for a long time, and at the end of the day we walked to the buses together. We were walking side by side, with her on my good side (my right arm is still in a sling). When I had to leave, she leaned a little toward me, and I tried to raise my arm for a hug, but accidentally
elbowed her in the face
.
Happy Birthday!
Also, lol.

HiVolt- If you think you need to leave the country to find more exposure to sex, you clearly aren't using the internet correctly. We can't even have a Question of the Day half the time that doesn't derail into various innuendos and straight out lewd suggestions and anecdotes.

Oh, I use it correctly, but it's not the internet that's the problem. If mass media could be as unrestrained as the internet, there wouldn't be a problem. I mean, kids don't really start using the internet until they're around 7 or 8 at the earliest, and by then they've already had the message of violence over sex drilled into them for years. Look at any cartoon, violence is a joke and sex is never mentioned unless in negative contexts.
Then it gets into the responsibilities of the parent and the community and such. The problem is really a systemic one. And it's one that I don't have any idea how to fix entirely. But, I know that dismantling the FCC would be a start.

I remember Airplane being on TV all the time when I was younger, but I can't remember the last time I saw it advertised in recent years. I think a lot of the humor which was considered acceptable back then is considered more offensive to today's audience, and so it's not shown nearly as often.
I have another example of that, the movie Blazing Saddles, when it was premiered on television the scene with the cowboys sitting around the campfire eating beans and farting up a storm was censored to mute the sounds of flatulence, and all the uses of the word $%^&*! were left in.
Last year when I saw it again on tv the fart sounds were uncensored and of course the word #$%^&* was censored out. As it should be.
Times change.

Though, depends on when it came out: Airplane was rated PG but would be R now a days....what with the brief 5 seconds of naked boobs flashing across the screen; well that and all the rest of the jokes lol.
Rated R? Surely you can't be serious!

I've seen Airplane-level content rated PG-13 (at the worst)...honestly.
