I got
Life-Binder's Handmaiden
tonight! I have nothing special to add, just think it's such an awesome mount and I'm so relieved to get it before MoP :o
Did the invite work then, MyTie? I thought it didn't.
maybe bioware realized how dumb it was to make players create a completely new email just to receive a new invite.
BTW Elhonna :P I just got a sweet bonus from work (=D) so I'll be joining SWTOR sooner than expected.
At most another 10 days (gotta go through a lot of hoops to get that damn CDKey)
Do you want my CD key? I got to level 10 and quit. I will never play again, 100% promise. So you can hyave my account for free--it's under my name, but like I said, I will *never* touch SWTOR again. Not my cup of tea!
If Ashelia is talking to me, then heck yes! I'd love a CD key. That saves me, what, 59 bucks! My gratitude, in advance!

Just watched a movie, one of those fake documentaries... and now I'm terrified. Movies usually never scare me, I must be tired.
Aww, if it scared you then I'd be @#$%ed. :(

Not another ghost show..
The thing that scares me the most is the people who believe in it.

Hehe. I'm cool with that, especially if it means I'll have another person in game to hang out with.

AH- cool. I tried to send it, but they said it wasn't a valid e-mail. Maybe that was because HSR already sent it.
What are your first impressions?

One piece of advice though....... I Dunno where your focus was on wow, but as far as MMO's goes, they are always divided into PVP and PVE. Stay away from the pvp.
This is all subjective personal opinion here, but the pvp on SWTOR needs a lot of work before its enjoyable at all. Lets look aside the class imbalance for a moment (There is class imbalance on all games, but at least on some games, all classes have SOME CHANCE at winning even if another has a higher chance than yours. on this one there are some specs that are absolutely useless and have no way in hell to win).
IMO the main reason why pvp isn't enjoyable is:
A: No rank. One of the reasons one would want to compete, is so they can be Number 1, after all, pvp on MMO's equates to an "E-sport" were you and your team wanna be recognized as the best on what they do. This is done in games like wow with your personal rating and team rating on arenas and rated BGs. SWTOR has neither. All you got is 4 battlegrounds and that's that.
B: A grind that is fairly reminiscent of Korean MMOs. On wow (Again using wow because other than Lineage II, its the only game I've played seriously for years, and because even though you don't like wow, you've played it for a while so you're familiar with it and can thus understand what I'm saying here) you could get to lvl 85, and start doing BGs on a weekend, and you'd get your 2handed pvp weapon in about...... I dunno, 5 hours-ish? the 2handed weapon is the most expensive piece, and assuming you dedicate an entire day or an entire afternoon you will be getting it.
Wanna know how you get gear on SWTOR? (For pvp I mean, on PVE this problem doesn't exist)
Your 2handed weapon costs 72 Centurion Commendations.
How do you get centurion commendations? via pvp bags.
How do you get pvp bags? via Warzone (that's the name for Battlegrounds here) Commendations. (the Warzone Commendations would be the equivalent of honor on this game)
So, the plan is, farm BG badges, use them to buy pvp bags, open those bags, and get Centurion badges. Neat'o
how much each bag costs? 800 Warzone badges. How many centurion badges are on each bag? 3 :S
I'll do the math for you, this means your 2handed weapon would cost 24 bags (Given that each has 3 badges and you need 72), and the combined cost of those bags in terms of Warzone badges is a smashing total of 19.200 badges.
How many warzone badges you get on a single warzone match? 50 if you lose, 90 if you win. :S This means on average you'd gain 70 badges per match (assuming you win 50-50). So how many matches you'd need to run to get 19.200 badges? that would take you 274 games X_x
How long a match can last? well excluding queue waiting times (Which I must add are very short, this is one part where this game does trumples wow) each match can last 15 minutes.
So, assuming each match lasts 15 minutes, and you have a 50-50 win-lose ratio, completing 274 matches would take 68 and a half hours.
68 AND A HALF HOURS!
Just to get your damn 2handed pvp weapon X_X
That's just stupid, that's plain bad design, that's just not fun at all. That's 68 and a half hours of you getting owned by geared people and being 2-shoted for just trying to do something, just to get 1 weapon. You could play an entire day of high-lvl pvp matches and have absolutely nothing to show for it, unlike wow where you'd play an entire BG day as soon as you ding to 85 and you'd at least have one or 2 pieces even if you lost every single match.
Of course, all of this info I pulled it from a video released on February, so maybe patch 1.2 changed this (I am not sure) but if it didn't, then that means pvp is just not fun on this game unless you have a Korean MMO Grindfest mentality.
So yeah, if you are into MMOs solely for pvp, this game may not be for you (Again this is all just my humble opinion, there's plenty of others who enjoy SWTOR's pvp despite or because of what I mentioned). I'm hoping Bioware does adresses this grindy problem regarding pvp, and manages to strike a nice balance between class balance and time/reward ratio regarding the players.
Excluding the pvp, this is one damn good game. I enjoyed my trial all the way to lvl 15, played every class to that level, did both instances available, and my jaw nearly hit the floor every 5 minutes with the gorgeous landscapes, fantastic music, and top-notch voice acting.
All in all, this game is "a diamond in the rough". Great potential to be a landmark on MMOs, and depending on how bioware decides to treat it, it could end up as a priceless Diamond............... or a worthless rock :S

I hate PvP, and wouldn't mind if the game of my choice ignored it completely.

ahhh :P then not a problem xD
SWTOR has a VERY VERY VERY solid PVE.
(To be honest I'm not a hotshot pvp'er either, I do the occasional match, but after doing like 3 BGs on wow I get bored, I don't think I'll be doing any pvp at all on SWTOR, I had a bad taste of it while leveling up on my trial account.......)
but yes, if pvp isn't your cup of tea then you have nothing to worry about. I got nothing but praise to this game in regards to its PVE.
(And as a hardcore veteran gamer, my opinion matters >.>)
