Also, how long cata expansion lasted on the beta?
5 months. From July 2010 to november 2010.
And yeah, lot of people gets mad about that they never got invited to the beta on the first wave, that was just for family, fansites and some players, there is going to be more waves out.
Those that weren't invited in the first wave, aren't even missing that much, because pandaria is not yet implemented, nor can you level past 86, nor can you do any of the new dungeons, so really, other than make a monk, test the pandaren starting zone (and the pandaren race) and see the new talents, there's not much else to do.
Since the pet battles aren't implemented either, nor are the scenarios, or challenge mode dungeons or anything at all.
Furthermore, almost everything is broken right now. Physical skills have been nerfed considerably (For example heart strike now deals 90% weapon damage) because actual weapon damage would be buffed. This is so that at end-game you still deal the same damage, but at earlier levels, skills like mutilate or aimed shot aren't OP.
The problem is that on beta at the moment, skills that deal a % of weapon damage were gimped, but weapons haven't been buffed yet. As a result, a frost Dk can use obli and find it hitting for like 6k =/
Of course, it DOES has some perks to be on beta ATM; since it lets you exploit some bugs that clearly are never making it live.
like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=RZ60_GJ5fwU
(That's a DK soloing Lady Deathwhisper on ICC, and killing her IN 30 SECONDS FLAT! :P Control Undead+Minion with a really OP skill that SCALES with your gear = win)

So I've finally gotten around to playing Skyrim (and yes, I plan to try those new-fangled telephone inventions next week), and this struck me as so funny last night:
So, I'm doing the companion quest where you go to that tomb to free Kodlak's spirit from the werewolf curse, and I (as a female toon) took Lydia. We get to the tomb, and the first guy bows out because he's too emotional. We make it three rooms, and the second guy bows out because he's scared of spiders. So us three girls go on to finish the mission because all the men in this scenario were too scared of the bugs or too emotional to pitch in. I was like "Really?" Well, at least they're not reenforcing traditional stereotypes- lol.

:P yep, hence why I love skyrim so much.
Hell later on when you meet the legendary heroes of skyrim, the strongest, and most agressive of them all is the woman. (sistah iced a dragon by eye-stab)
BTW why the spoiler tags? skyrim is 6 months old, by now, there's not much to spoil.

ya but there's a point were spoiler tags are no longer needed.
I mean, I shouldn't use a spoiler tag to say that
The planet of the apes was earth all along
or that
Darth Vader is Luke's father
:P
