The weekend is almost over =(
Jubi: ISD Block constructed. Grixis control based off
this
with substitutions as necessary. Can be done? (Possible substitutions include Evil Twin, Bloodline Keeper and Havengul Lich, with four Heartless Summoning to really bring the pain)
I don't know where the Block metagame is currently, but with U/B control being a standard staple at the moment, I imagine it would work in Block. Things I would recommend: Curse of Death's Hold (if you are seeing a lot of tokens or Delvers), Army of the Damned (one of to replace Wurmcoil), Balefire Dragon (one of to replace Inferno Titan).

Was given the video game Deuce X human revolution the other day. Haven't had much time to play it, but my guy is made of paper and the game is very... well, it is a pain to play. Any suggestions?

You should also consider Nephalia Drownyard, which is a U/B control staple at the moment. Run two of those, and you have a long-game win condition that not many people have an answer to.

Its not meant to be a FPS your supposed to use stealth and non lethal manuvers to achieve your goals.

be sneaky.
Deus Ex Human Revolution favors infiltration/stealthy approaches than head-on combat. Its not really a style meant for everyone.
Kinda like playing metal gear solid (Except that metal gear actually has AWESOME bosses unlike Deus Ex U_U)

I was more talking about how Bioware's been handling the recent attacks on their employees
how have they been handling those attacks? I haven't really been paying attention to the BSN lately.
the From Ashes DLC
what's wrong with it? The Prothean from it shows up in the game regardless, so you don't really miss out any special lore or anything, just a weapon, a mission, and a few armors, plus a squadmate that I wouldn't use anyways since I'd use exclusively Garrus+Liara anyways.
I was sorta upset at first but the moment I learned that he shows up regardless of the DLC (DLC just makes him a squadmember) I quickly let it slide.
and the fact that Mass Effect is praised for its story despite it being little more than generic sci fi tripe that does almost nothing to further storytelling in video games.
On this one we're gonna have to politely agree to disagree. People have different tastes after all, and what one can find generic and boring, others can find awesome and unique.
Example: Storyline of Halo. I admit the game has A LEGION of fans, yet I find the Halo lore boring, generic, and pointless. That doesn't mean the game doesn't has its merits, its just simply not my taste. I admit several other players find it quite awesome. So, for them: enjoy it, for me: meh, I'll pass.
I like Mass Effect because it deconstructs and reconstructs every single trope you can imagine in a space opera, has incredibly well developed characters (Wrex remains as the numero 1 party member of ALL TIMES) and mixes well just about everything a story could have, from comedy, drama, horror, action, romance, mystery , and more. But, like everything else, its not made for everyone, because human taste is as varied as grain sands on a beach. So what some find unique, and entertaining, others will find boring and sometimes even stupid.
so, in short, lets agree to disagree (Because honestly, I think Mass Effect is the best thing that ever happened to video-games since pixel shading)
Edit: In short, I'm not a fan. But that doesn't mean I think that people shouldn't enjoy it.
see? :P that's what I'm talking about. wasn't hard was it? =)

wow, know the funny parts? I agree on just about everything she said :P (Even when she's no longer working for bioware)
I'm afraid gamers are WAY too whiny these days. Just look at the wow situation, no matter what the devs say, there's always that someone who loves to cry till the walls collapse.
SWTOR hasn't fared any better regarding crybabies.
/sighs
Players rant—they know nothing about this DLC that's coming out except its name. But then it's 'oh this game must be incomplete, the game must be ruined.' Game developers are not evil. (Some are evil.) But most are not evil
you KNOW its true. People were complaining LOUDLY while knowing nothing of the DLC. The fact that Javik shows up in the game even if you don't have the DLC flew right over their heads.
Bioware holds a contest to re-design the default female shepard as a nice touch for fans of Jennifer Hale, they put 6 pictures up and let people vote on them rather than impose the new re-design on the playerbase. Ohh as soon as the blond shepard wins, cries galore that they are sexist patriarchist bastards who simply love bimbos.
seriously, its like gamers in general LOVE to hear the sounds of their own voices. And then people don't like it when commercials depict us like
this
=(
Edit: For more info, check this out
http://kotaku.com/5892335/so-theres-a-fan-campaign-to-change-the-ending-of-mass-effect-3
Lemme quote the important part:
Let's try to think of how BioWare, if it complied with this demand, would deliver such an alternate ending: Through DLC. That everyone would expect to be free—with all of the writing, voice acting and motion capture that a proper conclusion deserves. But at least we could be sure that it was developed after release! Oooh, but what if it uses characters that are already on the disc?
I think this is the sentiment that Christina Norman meant to impugn with her comments at GDC. Gamers are customers, yes. Customers' opinion of a product absolutely matters, and the maker of it absolutely should pay attention.
But the development of a creative work cannot be democratized and its revision to appease a vocal minority would surrender the creative freedom people claim to value in food fights over modding, takedown notices, trademark disputes, whatever. This is an expression of the writers and designers at BioWare, and if you dislike it, OK—there is certainly a lot of legitimate criticism of the outcome. But it is their statement, not yours.
What right does someone have to demand changes to the end of a story they did not write—and as this would, assuredly, be released as downloadable content—expect all of that labor for free? Because they'll refuse to endorse a product they've already bought?
What we're seeing is the Battlefield-ization of Mass Effect. A community that spews nonstop hatred of a game
it bought at full price and plays religiously.
come on, chill out people jeez. For the record, I dind't liked the ending either, and I certainly hope they do what Bethesda did with Fallout 3, which is release an expansion pack that gives us the ending we want. That doesn't mean I have to spew the horrific bile other games have expressed regarding ME3 (Such as neffy, though he's far from being the only one)
To put another example, I hated the ending of GTA 4, it was horrible, you either had to lose your cousin (Who's like a brother to you) or your love interest, and there was no way to save both at the same time. Does that means I gotta go spreading the word yelling at the top of my lungs how much the game sucks? of course not, I LOVE GTA 4 I had a blast playing it, and even if the ending sucks, the game still rules.
Hated the ending of Kane&Linch, really depressing, doesn't mean I didn't had fun playing it.
Hated the ending of Deus Ex, and Deus Ex 2, and Deus Ex Human Revolution, yet I hold the entire saga as one of the finest games ever made.
Come on, judge a game based on the sum of its parts, rather than pick apart the one part you don't like and focus exclusively on that.
Its as ludicrous as people not liking the ending of Matrix Revolutions, and DEMAND that the wachowsky brothers make a rewrite, and then distribute that movie FOR FREE! jeez :S

I know rite? For all the flack she's getting, I actually agree with her word-by-word. Even if she no longer works for bioware (She moved to a different company after ME2)
