So many people hate on Call of Duty. I don't know why.

So many people hate on Call of Duty. I don't know why.
I personally feel that the franchise does not deserve the hype and success that always surrounds upcoming sequels, and I feel that the game's general story (while I understand that the Multiplayer is where it's at) is severely lacking.
Besides that, I also feel that the multiplayer does not take as much skill as I would like. In general, I think that CoD: MWx get's way too much credit and way too much sales while there are vastly superior (quality-wise) games on the market. And besides, the term CoD-kids came from somewhere - it may not be directly related, but it appears that the CoD-franchise
might
be damaging video games as a whole because people get used to the fast-paced more-or-less-everything-now-type of games, and drag that mindset to other games.
Other than that; I love "e-Sports", and I do not feel that CoD qualifies - despite Activision throwing a million-dollar promotion-tournament at it.

MW1 was a great game, the rest are just too easy and pretty much retarded with no dedicated servers.
Take me and one of my friends if we play five/six games we are pretty much guaranted at least one nuke, we have gone four games with: him nuking, me nuking, no nuke and him nuking.
MW1 was the only one that could fit as a e-sport, after a slight bit of modding of course.

Mhm, its also the fact that the game is somehow socially acceptable to play, but WoW.
Depends, I'm socially accept for playing games over all but WoW is a exception, most of my friends thinks that WoW is a
''no-life game''
. But then I tell them that I play a lot less WoW then other game and describe the game and they seem to understand that it isn't boring nor addicting.
Edit: miss read Onis post.

I don't like CoD because it feels like whoever shoots first wins the fight. Also, you can't hit #$%^ without the aim button and you can't hit #$%^ with the aim button because you can't see through the gunfire.
Wait what? Do you play it on a console or a PC, and which one are you playing?

MW3 has dedicated servers. And instead of a nuke, there's a MOAB. 25 kills with your gun only.I don't like CoD because it feels like whoever shoots first wins the fight. It's easy to see through most of them, and you can just throw a suppresor on if you can't stand it.

In about 30 minutes, I will be wearing glasses for the first time in a few years.

What's wrong with wearing glasses?

Nothing, I just haven't had an up-to-date prescription for them since then, as I'd been wearing contacts.

Switching from high Rx contacts to high Rx glasses without wearing glasses in a long while is more than a little disorienting.

I don't own it, but I've played it on both. That's just what it felt like, though. I'm sure I could get used to it, but I don't want to play long enough to do that.
That's how guns work though. They have muzzle flash.

I'm generally not a fan of realism in video games though.
Me neither. And Call of Duty is faaaaaaaaar from reality.

Call of Duty.
Realism.
Pick one.

Pretty much. If you're looking for realism, try BF3.

I much prefer Halo, in all honesty. Amazing gameplay, both single player and multi, and an excellent story to boot.
