Considering what the movie was about, did you really expect real death?
Yes.
Whatever happened to The Departed?
Seriously, you didn't need a happy ending. They all !@#$ing died. Just shot in the goddamn head. Sick of this cop-out 'it was alright in the end.' That was a perfect
Johnny Got His Gun
movie, with the added morality question of whether it's alright to keep him alive to save other peoples lives, but then there was cop-out ending so that everyone could go home and rest easy. A really good movie SHOULD keep someone up an extra half hour at night.

I didn't 'expect' that it would happen, I 'expect' that writers should be able to follow through with it. Just to clarify.

You know you will still hear it in your head after pausing the video...even if you hated it.

Again, lol, expecting them to end a movie like that on a 'low' note.

I don't think you see my point. I don't expect that these things will happen, but I think I hold writers to the expectation that they should be able to end movies on a low note. Or a happy note. Just leaving him to die instead of trapping him in a situation that Metallica made my favorite music video of all time (OF ALLĀ TIME) on could easily be seen as a happy-ending. So I guess the word wold be less 'expection' and more of I think I have higher standards for them.
Also: He sends the last text-message in an alternate reality, where it must arrive in another alternate reality, where they would go back and use Source Code to make another alternate reality... I think you see where I'm going. Inception!

And there are lots of movies that end with everyone dying: Any 'of the Dead' movies for the prime example. But the idea that a movie like the Source Code would end any way other then it did is merely expecting way too much of Hollywood writers.

Again, I don't 'expect' it, I just think I should be able to expect it. Or hell, not expect it and get surprised.

Nice double talk there; but still, you went into the movie with exceptions about a current 'big' movie, and are disappointed, but you shouldn't have been. The ending was what it was, and saw it coming from a mile away.

Nice mixed messages there. I stated multiple times that's what it was. Don't pretend I'd go back on my word to impress you. That's right, I saw it from a mile away. My point is that I'm disappointed in 'big' movies in general, that I COULD see it coming from a mile away. Just because it was expected doesn't mean I shouldn't be disappointed with it. By that vein of thinking you shouldn't be disappointed when someone who gets consistently bad grades gets an F.

If only writing this guide meant I didn't have to do my homework... *Sigh*
I need an extra week of holiday.
