Einstein once predicted that if anyone were to travel faster then the speed of light instead of going just forward as a distance they would also go back in time.
Einstein was also wrong on a number of theories.

Is it possible for a time machine to travel back in time prior to the date of the invention of the time machine?
My university physics professor says 'no'. It is possible to travel forward in time, just not backward.
