Then take him to a vet, hopefully they can fix it up, and if not well... at least it's some practice for the students there.

Suppose that's a good idea, thanks.

Sad but true; if the animal can't be saved, they let the students watch over it... and when it passes away, it's used for dissection.

Sounds like a biology class.

My wife works at a vet. One way to make big points with the vet tech girls is to bring in an animal that is NOT yours and offer to pay whatever it takes to fix the bird, because you feel really bad for it. My wife says all the girls that work at her work get instant crushes on guys when they do this.

Save up your money and find a animal on death's door. The more pathetic the better. Cats are better than dogs for this purpose.
Take it into the vet, and offer to pay any price. Have about 1K bucks ready. (better send your friend in first to make sure the techs are cute). Then, take your newfound kitty in to get fixed.
You score points with girls, and a cat gets medical attention. Everyone wins.

Try to squeeze out a tear too... because... you know... you love kitties soooo much, and it hurts you to see your little friends in pain.

Man. I don't think I would
ever
spend a thousand dollars for a girl I don't even know. Possibly for a dying animal but...
Also, you're saying to abort the mission if the girls are fugly? XD

I don't care about the girls. I care about the bird. So how much on average would it be to probably fix/mend broken legs?

That bird is probably gonna die, dude. Id say its gonna run you about 400 bucks. I am just guessing based on what I hear my wife casually mention about the animals she works with.

I hope your guess is incorrect. :(

I remember trying to nurse a Chickadee back to health in Maine. It couldn't fly, so we made this little habitat inside a cooler with little moss, sticks, leaves, dirt, etc. It actually looked really nice.
It died in a day. : /

That sounds similar to my experiences with a bird I tried to save when I was younger.
Also, don't take that bird into a vet with 11 bucks or something. Nothing will score you less points with the techs than walking in broke, and then walking out with a soon to be dead animal because your a loser.... yeah... no points at all.
