Cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without a harmonica.

I watched some of the Lord of the Rings films over the past few days. As much as I loved them, I noticed that most of Legolas' purpose in it was to spout random lines that didn't really add to the conversation, to make him look important. Case in point: "A diversion!"
tbh Tolkien wasn't the best person in the world when it came to creating depth in his characters. I found that the depth of the people in his stories come from the events around them and the deep lore. Anyone else not feel too much remorse at the end of the Hobbit- too many characters to keep track of, too short a book, you never got a bond.
