Hey...help me with my math homework xD
In a nation of 221 million people, the urban population is 2.25 times the rural population. Find the rural and urban populations.
...And I need to set it up as a proportion.
So the formula is: 2.25x+x=221,000,000. Where x=the rural population.
I'm stumped. Any help?
Edit: Don't get fussy over "cheating" because this is an optional problem, pretty much made for stumping. I won't claim to have done it alone.

grrr
x(2.25+1)=221,000,000
x=221,000,000/(2.25+1)

Look to the sky
Somewhere up
Now stars are correct
Ages past
Now finally
Bride breaking walls
But old people wake up
They will return
Humanity will learn
New types of fear
When they arrive
They Yigal
Everything on their behalf
Hopes turn black
When they return
Ignorant fools!
Mankind now controls
Where they ruled then
It's them again
Sorry Mudfish... I'm failing to find the song.

Is there a specific way to do these problems? I don't see how you got 2.25+1. If it's amazingly complicated you don't have to bother but...I'm curious.

2.25x+x
Assuming 1=x
x(2.25+1) = 2.25x+x
Why he says 1=x in the first place, I'm not sure, but I'll admit I didn't spend any time at all reading the question >_>
Edit: Oh I see why, because it's required for the question to work <_< (he's factorised it in x)

Wuz eye raddd?
221 000 000 / (2.25 + 1) = 68 000 000
=6.8*10^7
So yes, you were right.
Edit:If you want me to do it step by step I probably could >_>

Carol of the Old Ones. Yes, I'm a Lovecraft-obsessed fan that was able to recognize it by the lyrics. Sue me.
Just noticed someone already said it. Damn it all to Cthulhu!

You just made me realize that "Bride" and "Prison" are spelled the same way in Hebrew.
