Guys look at what I learned today.
X=.9999999 repeating
Multiply both sides by 10.
10X=9.999999 repeating
Subtract X.
9X=9
(Because X is .9 repeating, when you take it from 9.9 repeating, only the 9 is left)
Divide both sides by 9.
X=1
Someone please tell me how this is possible.
Read your post again. That's why it's possible.
This. You already showed the proof :3

If the decimal repeats, say it's 2/3, or .66666666666666~ , if you put it on a number line in your head, as you think about adding more 6s, the point on the number line moves forward ever so microscopically, yet it never reaches the number 7.
Geometric series. Look it up. I find that a geometric series is the best way to describe the effects of 0.999...=1, but then, I've learned them and you haven't.
Just stick with the 1/3 x 3 = 0.333... x 3 => 1 = 0.999...
