No, because anyone worth talking to knows that the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand caused WWI. C'mon Laihendi, get your head in the game. =P
That's grossly oversimplified. It's like saying that plants make food from sunlight.
You are right; I could go into great detail about how the fall of the Hapsburgs and Ottomans caused great discontent throughout those regions of Europe and regional differences had caused hostilities between neighboring areas. I
could
have done that, but I am trying to do Latin homework right now and I don't feel like posting a whole bunch of crap about WWI...
=P
Dude. About time someone with history knowledge came here to keep me company. Ever looked into Roman history? Ceasarian era?

Her novels are... really really lengthy. I read 'Ceasar' by her. That book is a fiction, but it is tightly based on J Ceasar's campagn to conquor Gaul (second half of it anyway), and his victory over Pompey Magnus. She is remarkably historicaly accurate, down to very very detailed portions. She does take the liberty with some conversations, and personalities, but even these are very close to historical. If you can read that much, go for it. It's the best in its class.

Laihendi read a book not too long ago about the war between Octavius, Antony, and Sextus and friends :)

I personally prefer Asterix the Gaul.
Ok, I kid. I just haven't read a book set in that time period. As for long books, I have read 'Hawaii' by Michener and 'Anna Karenina' by Tolstoy (don't remember the translation though). Great books also.
