Hunter's Mark - do you use it in heroics/raids?

I always use it on bosses (obviously) but my question is: are you able to properly and "productively" use it while fighting trash? With talents and glyph you easily add +360AP against your target (@80) and that's a LOT of bonus. but my problem is... the shared cooldown. When chaining attacks on 3-4 mobs, do you mark them all, one after another? Doesn't it make you lose a lot of time? I was thinking of a macro to always remember to cast it but... that shared cooldown prevents me chaining it with anything else (I would love to macro Hunter's Mark + Serpent Stin at once for example...).

The Pro Move is to attach it in a macro that sends your pet in to attack
Yep I did the same, I send my pet to the mob using SHIFT + LEFT CLICK (while "q" = MD, "e" = swap aspect between Jawk and Viper). While sending, the macro casts the mark too. My problem is: when we fight more mobs at once (typically marked skull>cross>diamond>...) and the tank is aggroing everything, I usually mark the first as soon as we start the fight... then I just swap to 2nd, 3rd and 4th mob (using TAB to switch and immediately casting SSting once).
That way I cycle mobs without spending time in something else (constant DPS) and my pet just stays on the target or auto-switch to the new target I cycled to). This is whyI do not cast Hunter's Mark... I guess I should instead... is it?
Side-OT #1
Being a MM specced huntard, do you suggest the Mark's glyph (+60AP @80) or Hawk's glyph (+6% bonus)... or Trueshot aura'sglyph (+10% crit on steady)? I already equipped SSting glyph + Aimedshot glyph so I just got 1 spot to fill.
Side-OT #2
Is there any addon that makes my screen FLASH if I forget Viper active? I can remember LOTS of situations where I just fight trash with viper ON after we rested or stopped a while... damn I hate it, I often forgot to go back to Hawk :-(

I have a 30/10 second rule when it comes to using skills. If the mob will die in less than 30 seconds, no hunter's mark, less than 10 seconds, no serpent sting. The damage from 1 extra steady shot will be higher than the damage gained from using hunter's mark/serpent sting in those short fights
Never thought about that... very interesting, very interesting...
Now if you're running up to the mob, perfectly fine to put up mark, as you aren't really losing a GCD as you haven't started fighting yet
Well yes, true. In that case I always
1)
MD on tank and
2)
macro (mark on mob + pet attack)
3)
as soon as I am in range, Serpent Sting.
Just a note, the number above for hunter's mark is likely to change as you become more geared as hunter's mark is a static AP increase while your shots obviously aren't. True. This is why I
changed my MM
spec removing points from Improved HM and placing them elsewhere.
As for glyphs: Steady shot and serpent sting glyphs are a must. From there it is a bit more personal preference, but IAotH glyph is the best DPS wiseOk fine, that's my actual configuration indeed. Thx again.
