When I started reading this post I thought: another "Im right and you are wrong" post. FFS, this is a free world. Help the noobs, teach them, but dont call them #@$! retards just because they are ignorant. If they refuse to learn, /sigh /kick /ignore /retard them, thats alright. I do that myself. Then the post changed to a "im ... level and im always doing good and bla bla bla.". Then finally something useful, the spellpower dk story from SmileyTB, and then some other posts, and then my useless post about how useless this topic is. Congratulations.

Heh, i ran (correction: TRIED running) heroic utgard pinnacle last night. I was tanking, we had a priest healer, and the DPS consisted of a warlock, rogue, and deathknight.
Not a single one of them could pull past 1300 DPS, and I was doing rougly 1400-1500 throughout the run as the TANK (which is actually a bit on the low side for me, neeeed more expertise!). We couldnt get past the drake boss because none of the DPS could kill the adds quick enough, and the DPS deathknight basically stood there swinging his weapon at mid air for the entire fight doing NOTHING.
Some players are just terribad.

I'm a frost DK DW(yes i know it's inferior
No, its not.
I never liked Unholy, but gave it much time anyways just to lat it aside. There is nothing more easy for us to tank as Frost now. The 10 man Naxx, while not being a great deal, was easy and fun. Trash? 5k AOE hitting every single target can hold whatever crapload of mobs there is. And my tank gear is more than half blue. What could be the best RP dump than an UNAVOIDABLE attack that deals enormous ammounts of threat and damage. Only frost has it.
So no, Frost isn't inferior at ALL.
There will be tons of underplaying DK's until people realise, that the best ones really need to know their job. Stay cool, they reroll ret paladins soon ;)
actually, i'm pretty sure that he's referring to the fact that he's tanking as a dual wielder.. which IS inferior to 2h.
to Haelbright, believe me, i understand about being broke. defense cap can be kind of a pain to reach when you're a brokearse like us. lol. farm that trinket from reg. HoL.. it's a huge help.

It takes time to learn a class, it should improve when people that rerolled from a class they did not master actually bothers to learn something

toot my horn TOO much
Deathtards become the new Huntards?
Seriously guys, stop making
us
look bad.
Did you expect anything different?
lol(insert class) re-rolled DK. They didn't have to level 1-55 and didn't have to group much till at least 70.
Not learning a class solo + not grouping to learn class + = ......
People who never Tanked trying to do it as one of the harder classes to do it as.
People who failed at their class failing again at this class.
Eventually it will balance itself out. Either people will stop failing at DK, or they will forever immortalize the class just like Hunters did.
i never tanked befor now my lvl 80 dk is doing very well with being 2def points away from def cap for raids and 29k health and about 40% avoid.
the diffrence between ppl tanking for the first time on dks and me is i took time to learn what u need to do as a tank what requirements are for heroics and raids. Unlike ppl who think they hit lvl 80 and now they can do heroics and raids w/o gearing up first
dps can kinda slide into heroics as soon as they ding 80, depending on how they've geared up from questing and such. healers can also get away with it to a point if they've got a good SP/MP5, and they aren't idiotic. tanking, however, is something completely different, and i have found this out the hard way. it's bizarre but it seems like tanks have to gear up for heroics a lot more than dps does.
i will admit that tanking as a DK (which i've never rolled a tank before) is difficult, but it also gives you a great view of what the other classes go thru on your mains (mine being a caster DPS). tanking is rather fun, and it's a quite refreshing change of pace. however, i'm not a nub who just tries to hop right in swinging wildly and face rolling.. there's a sort of art to it.. it's not easy when compared to DPSing. i've studied DKs quite a bit (as i'm sure you've seen my fat trap posting around these forums a lot in the last month or so) and spent quite a bit of time as a DPS DK to get rotations down and what have you. rotations dont vary much from DPSing to tanking as a DK. just throw on your frost presence and keep dark command on your hotkeys. i like it either way, and i think i do quite alright at it (as i had a group in H-HoS tell me i did last night) heh.

it's bizarre but it seems like tanks have to gear up for heroics a lot more than dps does.
Ofc dps can begin with heroics as soon as they ding 80. As long as the person isn't completely retard at his class it shouldn't be a problem. And tanks / healers can't, because of the pressure they have to reach certain caps. I have this friend of mine, he recently dinged 80 with his lock, he can barely reach 900 dps, I think that is truly amazing. He's truly one of these ppl we're talking about (only not dk :P) that simply doesn't understand his class and his abilities.
Now to get a litte on-topic. I'm currently leveling my second DK (after 3.0.8) and I'm trying out Unholy this time since I'm kind of bored with blood which I lvled my first DK with. And I just have to say, it's SO easy! I mean, me as tank (picked up a couple of "tank" (more stamina, less crit) items when I was lvling at ~60) 2 dps and a healer (he was barely one...) did BF ourselves (I know, it doesn't sound amazing but I wasn't really tank specced :P)
I'm planning to be a tank when 80, I'm strongly thinking about Unholy tanking!
My rotation is something like this (remember, haven't tanked since, no idea if there are other spells to consider that I've gotten since) : Icy Touch - Plauge Strike - Pestilence (if multitargeting) - Blood Boil (same) - Scourge Strike (not sure about that one) - Death Coil to get rid of the runic power and repeat if needed. Can vary depending the situation (may throw a Obliterate in there).
And I do agree, there are so many out there playing this class not knowing how to do, they're just hot on the idea of not having to lvl 1-55...
your rotation sounds good to me. if it's a multi-mob pull, toss down your DnD, and toss in unholy blight from time to time just for those extra ticks.. that schtick really adds up. and of COURSE you wanna use scourge strike, that'll prolly equal out to like 2nd-3rd of your damage overall (maybe a bit lower if it's a heavy AOE instance)
anyway.. for dps doing heroics as soon as they ding 80.. it really depends on the instance.. if you have 3 nub DPSers, and a tank and healer who's ready, then something like H-UP will take FOREVAR.. Nexus can be a nightmare with the boss who splits if you don't burn them quick enough. Violet hold tends to move very fast without good dps. AZN will destroy some undergeared DPSers from those venom shots on the last boss. the escort part on HoS is though enough even with decently geared DPS on heroic. so okay.. i'll resind what i said DPS can start doing SOME heroics the moment they ding 80.. but some they should definitely save for after they've replaced some gear. i just was meaning to say that there's so much more pressure on the tank and the healer to be WELL geared in heroics, and no one bothers to check the DPS. having been on all 3 sides of this equation, it's rather obnoxious.
