paladins are the healers that will still be pumping out the big heals hours after the other healers are oom, we are primarily single or 1-3 target healers (i say 3 because i find beaconing 1 target and healing 2 others assuming roughly equal damage intake isn't hard). But thats the way i see it, and yea that would have been a messy fight. in tight groups HL is your friend :)

Lightrain, don't know why you're directing that crit talk to me.....
Only say this because I'm not sure if your comment Lightrain about 30% crit is directed to me or someone else. Sure hope it's not me.
It was just a clarification. It wasn't aimed at you.
Other than that I do have to say me and my guild today gave up on doing Grobbulus. The raid consisted of 2 warrior tanks, 2 paladin healers, 1 priest healer and dps (not even going to get into the classes because it's of no use for this discussion). And the main problem was again the lack of hots and instant heals. Since it's a fight where you have to be in constant motion and dodging poisons and leaving crap on the way the paladin healer SUCKS on this battle. And with so much (tiny to be sure but...) AoE damage going to all the raid it's hard to stop and spam some FoL or HL.
I hope blizzard can fix this soon, not exactly by a new spell but at least a glyph in the same manner as the previous Glyph of Flash of Light.
I mean, druids have hots and 1 AoE (forgive me if I'm wrong but I never played druid). Priests are obviously the kings of heal (at least to me) and shamans have some nice multi-target heals. And even though good-geared paladins can be EXTREMELY good on single target heals they suck either in party heal or motion healing so... That fight wasn't pretty.
Grobulus is actually relatively easy to heal if the raid knows what to do. This being-
-OT
away
from the raid, melee on spawned adds whenever they are up. They are the only uncontrolled aoe damage to the raid. Tanking them on the raid makes it much harder to heal this fight.
-Melee heavy raids have to move him faster, or the melee will be useless. The MT has to move quick enough for the melee to not get caught up in the dropped poison coulds from grobbulus, and will probably prefer that only non rotation bound dps kill adds(ret pallies/hunters/mages).
-Drop the poisons away from the raid, and make sure your priest pops a renew on whoever is running. This makes it much easier when they get back to heal them up.
-Healers should be coordinating on vent, so you never have all the healers running to drop poison clouds, there are alternatives to running where the rest of the raid drops poisons if you pay attention.
Oh, and as a paladin, whatch the judgements. If JoL isn't up, put it up. It helps a lot more than you think for aoe damage.

What I'm saying, is with all the great raid buffs, at 30% holy crit you start to see that your divine plea keeps you up while spamming. You can go for more, sure. 30% is the low end unbuffed crit percentage that you want to be at. This is a general rule. This doesn't mean you can't be a little lower or higher and be successful.
Crits for a pally aren't necessarily for healing as much as for mana returns. Relying on 13-16k crit HL's to keep your tank up is a good way to lose a tank.

Actually, when we do this on 25 man, I have the druid HoT the tank, and he pre HoT's the runners with a rejuve and single LB so they come back with pretty much full health. This makes it ungodly easy to heal. Just keep the tank and dps in the aoe up. It's not rocket science. Finding an OT and dps that can stay out of the puke while keeping the adds away from the rest of the raid is the most difficult part of this fight.

FoL with no fear of switching to HL spamming. Certain fights are different tho.
Most raid setups will only require you to FoL spam most of the time, so I prefer it for the most part unless it's necessary to cast HL. This keeps you from getting lazy, and pretty much keeps you spamming most of the time.

Thank you for writing something up to fill the gap. Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like to include some of the basic stuff I wrote in Battle Cleric, so I can get it off the stickylist.
EDIT:
Forgot to include my e-mail. ecoliforniaSPLATgmailDOTcom.

I'll let you know when I get bored enough to link them together avallen. I would have no issues with you adding it to this, but I don't think I reserved enough room to meld the two together.
To rob1n- It was mentioned, it's just not linked.
That was just a comparison of naxx gear. =)

Naxx is harder than Sarth with 0 drakes up, and they're all in the same tier level. For example, SSC and TK loot was included together. For most guilds, Kara, Gruul and Mag's gear was grouped together.
If a certain guild can clear all the wings in Naxx (very basic assumption) they can probably down heroic Sarth.
Hehe, agreed. Especially since Obsidian Sanctum is the #2 pugged raid in WoW at the moment. I did mention in the post that I was just showing the Naxx 25 man gear. The little blurb after mention's that chest.
