lol, i actually laughed out loud there ^^
in fact, not only am i an english speaker, i am literally an englishman. i'm from the uk. using a japanese name on an internet forum doesn't bear any relation to my real name... just as i imagine your name isn't really zhoulish.
i'm honestly not trying to make a big deal about the language thing. language doesn't matter at all on these sites, nor do typos etc. (i do them all the time myself). the

thing that matters is that your point gets across. i quoted that particular sentence because i don't have the first idea what it meant. they were english words but that was not an english sentence.
it isn't language snobbery i'm only trying to understand your point.
i'm going to ask very clearly and i would like an answer, as clear as you can please.
what is the change to the DS description that you're complaining about?
to clarify, you've said that there was a change to the description with 1.10 (which wasn't that long ago btw. i'd have to look up the actual date but it can only have been a few months before the launch of tBC) and you've said that i must be a noob and a liar because i don't remember it. but you haven't said what the change was or why you're so upset about it.
...OR what relevance it has to this thread!

you're complaining about a change made 2 expansions ago? do you think that DS was better then?
i don't. being able to get 2 souls from a mob doesn't exactly fit with internal logic of the game and being able to farm shards from level 1 mobs undermines the whole system.
these changes are logical and were made so long ago that's it's hardly worth discussing now.
having lots of characters doesn't make me any more inclined to respect you or your opinions. you gain respect by involving yourself in valuable or interesting discussion. you can't troll and insult other forum members then demand respect because you've got lots of characters levelled, it doesn't work that way. i have 2 characters at 80 but i only feel able to post about my warlock (my oldest and most /played character). i mostly lurk in the druid forum to pick up tips ^^
Well I'm quite glad you have come forward as to your native language I can also see why you feel the need to correct others on their use of it.
i don't know what you're trying to say here but i feel that you're trying to insult me ^^

Well we are able to get two shard now from the new glyph, so I fail to understand you? Having lots of characters only means I have played the game alot! The point I was making was the fact the spell DS and its description has changed. Yes ofc any level 80 spell will kill any grey mob in 1 or more hits, ticks etc. You were stating it was trival to kill a lvl 9 and get shard I merely suggested an improvement.
this was well written and much more conducive to discussion.
Quite frankly it is obvious and in 9/10 cases that feel the need correct on a matter such as english. This stems from a non english heritage, we brits merely accept it as fact the diversity of modern england.
this much less so.
i don't want to dwell on the language thing. i see that you've taken my mentioning it very personally. i don't know why you're so sensitive about it but i don't actually care where you're from it would just be easier to understand you if you took more care with your writing. it seems we're both from the uk so there oughtn't be any problems.

i might be remembering wrong but i think there used to be an addon which would add tootip information to each soul shard saying whose soul was contained within. at some point i must have had every boss's soul from MC/BWL and bits of AQ... would've been nice to keep them to show the grand kids ^_^
i'm not particularly dissatisfied with the current system. i'm not particularly attached to it either. blizz have talked about wanting to make the shard heavy things easier and so far have only released the summoning stone thing (though i suppose the whole soulwell idea is probably part of the same trend). do we expect shards to be a part of the coming overhaul?
my guess is they won't be.
a little off topic perhaps but i'd like to see demonic circles be a little more useful. not just a place to teleport to but a place that imbues the caster with a buff of some kind. i'd imagined this being a minor thing like 2%haste (in reality they wouldn't make something like this game-breakingly wonderful so 2% seemed useful but not amazing) but perhaps something soul shard related might be interesting. when standing in your demonic circle nothing requires shards... hmm, this is OP so maybe not but you get my idea.

Soul Bar. Lets get us a soul bar! A third bar, independant from mana and health, dedicated to how many/much soul/s we have have drained. Big souls (from mobs our level and higher) top it up a lot, smaller souls top it up less, critters hardly budge it. Sounds gravy to me.
Off track, I've got a masters in English, and reading this thread has been amusing :) its... pretty much why I went to uni to study!

To address the orignal issue from a different point of view:
Perhaps some people would be less upset about carrying a bag specifically for soul shards if it granted some other benefit?
I'm referring really to the hunter quiver/ammo pouch deal where Hunters have a specific bag for carrying their ammo, but while equipped that bag improves their ranged attack speed (up to 15%). Hunters would (should) never consider just putting their ammo in normal bags for this reason.
Perhaps if soul shard bags improved spell damage by 1% or even stamina by 2% or something along those lines warlocks would be happier to equip them even though they are losing general inventory space.

Thats all well and good, (and ty for the offical stance) but other classes don't use an entire bag full of said reagents. Although they are free (as Gorefiend said) I still must give up a bag.

Well what you pay in Silver, you are refunded in lack of skill required to play your class. QQ.
yes its true i have a hunter. i also have a warlock. both 70+. and farming shards is %^&* easy. i can honestly tell you that warlocks come out of it better than hunters do, literally shooting money at mobs.
is it really that hard for you to cast drain soul?

i dunno, the soul bar thing is starting to sound more like runic power or rage and less like a unique warlock thing.
like the idea of a buff from using a soul bag though. a percentage buff would mean that there wouldn't need to be different levels of the buff with better bags. percentages scale and a changing buff is a little incongruous with blizz history.
i can't help thinking that any buff would need to be balanced elsewhere. if blizz are happy with out dps then a 2% increase in SP (for example) would have to go with a nerf elsewhere... unless blizz think we're low on damage output and this would be a perfect chance to buff the class ^^ (i won't hold my breath for this)
with the homogenisation of caster gear we don't win so much on stamina these days so maybe a 5% stam buff from a soul bag would fix that?
