As I read the ages(older adults like myself :) ) it takes me back to when I first starting playing with my nephews 3+ years ago. I assumed everyone but me was pretty much just kids and teens.
Even in the early days of my guild I refused to speak to anyone but family in fear of being thought of as some kind of child predator. I never played a MMO before.
Then I started to read thing like "got to pick up my kids be bbl" ..."my wife and I are going out to dinner"..."my grand kids like ganking me". I never realized that I had just as many adults as kids in my guild playing this game. I eventually loosened up.
But I guess the most unique thing about WoW is that it allowed me to interact with people who I would never had crossed paths with in real life. The young female teenager who played the piano in our vent. The military personnel, who always called me sir and to whom I always gave my raid spots to and anything else I had. It was a honor to have these brave young adults in my guild.
The single moms who were working, raising their kids and still finding the time to clean up guild bank tabs and heal on runs.
The nerds, the nerds, the nerds, nerds, nerds, white nerds, blue nerds, nerds, nerds, straight nerds, gay nerds, American nerds, foreign nerds and even a female nerd :)
In truth many of these people are as close to me in friendship as are the people in my real life, because what is the foundation of friendship if not communication and common interest.
So cheers to young and old(young at heart).
fixed
=P
I always said "nerd" was the word dumb people used because "intelligent" was too difficult for them to spell :)

I'm 25 and have played since the open beta. I've quit twice for 6 months to a year each time and am currently active again.

I'm 16 and have been playing on and off for about 4 years. I quit during school to give myself focus, and then pick it up during summer/vacations to kill some peeps.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and are eagerly awaiting patch day tomorrow.

I am retired ( 61 ) and been playing for about 3 years. Its a social thing for me. I am the oldest in my guild but there are a few near my age.
