Just bought the sundial, was topping the dps meters on VoA 10 and 25 man, was getting 3k dps, which is better than my usual 2.7 as FG/ember. I did mess up on the rotations a few times, which I see as a downside, but I feel with more experience, i can perfect this. Thanks for the help again mate.
Quick question though, I'm dropping my felguard glyph, and getting a CoA glyph, giving me Corr, immo, and CoA glyph. Would this be the recommended glyph choice?

personally id drop corrupt and use imp, but the difference is minimal tbh

if you're using a felguard then the glyph is ok but about to get MUCH better. depending on how much cash you have (and glyph prices on your server) you might want to hold on to your FG glyph until after the patch.
i'd drop corruption in a heartbeat though. it's a big under-performer for destro/nuke builds.
i wouldn't agree with using the imp though. while i find test dummy damage comparable (comparable but still FG ahead) in a raid situation the buffs the FG gets compared to those that the imp gets make a BIG difference.
FG, CoA, immo. sounds like good stuff to me.

no... i thought this was a 0/41/30 discussion? and irharry suggested using the imp instead of FG.
did i misunderstand? if so apologies for the confusion.

UA, SL, Immo.
Disregard these. I had misread.

Is what you'd probably like to take a look at.

UA and SL would be bad glyphs for a destro lock

Hmm, I think that is either an old post or an inaccurate post. For example :
Curse of Agony:
---Assuming that this glyph adds two ticks in the middle of the cast, thus not increasing the spell's DPS.
---Also note that this glyph helps to simplify affliction rotation.
It adds 2 extra ticks at the beginning of the spell that are medium strength ticks. CoA is a DPS boost.
Edit: see comment below

Plus, less time refreshing a dot, more time casting fire.

CoA glyph is good for destro because of the less time casting a DoT thing but that glyph doesn't provide a DPS boost in itself.
it does provide a DCPT boost which is valuable but (surprisingly) much less so for aff builds.

Yes, GoA does not explicitly increase the DPS of CoA. It does save a GCD every 6 casts(2.4m) which is a boost to a locks overall DPS.

I find this really, really interesting..... Its completely obvious that aff locks are dominating the "top" dps slots, yet have a closer look.
Patchwerk and Instructor Raz are identical fights from a locks point of view, you stand and spank. Nothing else, its all about rotations and spec, In fact its plain boring. Although Patchwerk is pure aff locks, have a look at the Raz list, theres a demo lock there pulling 5247, and a desto lock pulling 4977. The demo lock especially is not far behind the aff lock at all...
you've got a desto lock top of the metre for sath, and hes not an AOE fight so that wouldn't skew the numbers.
You've got a demo lock running 5499 on the grand widow, and demo locks topping the chart on noth the plaguebringer.
Its got to make you wonder, if aff is REALLY so far ahead, why are the other specs all represented on all types of fights? I say all types, because patchwerk is not the only dps race fight, he's just the most well known.
In many ways this list makes me change my opinions of 0/41/30 as well, since its obviously represented here, it can't be as bad as we all think it is?
It seems to me that while affliction does have a slight edge, the dominance of the deep aff spec is almost certainly because the top locks spec it thinking its best - not because it actually is. It certainly looks better, but not by much at all.
It does make me want to have another play with the deep aff specs though....... I haven't given it a whirl for a while now, and my gear has improved a hell of a lot since then.

{You probably already know this}
Patchwerk is the "standard" fight because your DPS is going to be closest to theoretical maximum. More complicated fights introduce more skill & luck to the mix.
Blizzard has made a very good effort to make multiple specs competitive. Even on patchwerk the difference between affliction and the other "good" specs is not large. This is nice because we can now be competitive with specs we like instead of all of us speccing to "THE SPEC".

Yeah I hear you on that. I always think of the Raz fight as being the same, but I guess with the jagged blade knockback thing its not as "pure" as the patchwerk fight.

i'm not so optimistic as you.
the current situation isn't so very different to early BC. affliction dominates but not by so much. however, affliction, even with the changes (pandemic, ruin etc) won't scale with crit as well as other builds. this will lead to a point, as the patches roll out and gear gets better, where aff will fall behind again.
this may happen slower than BC but a small lead now for affliction might not be enough to allow it to stay competitive as we move into new content.

If anyone is curious on some more numbers, heres my guilds WWS of our last Naxx raid. I'm (Zëro) affliction speced, and Dreadlocked is the felguard spec (Not sure on exact spec). His numbers are not that bad, and on certain fights he did more then I did.
Along with the comments on patch vs Razuv, I agree, there the same fight basically. I usually top Razuv also, but in this WWS I died about 20~ secs in, due to a priest messing up on taunts, and was quickly Brezed, buffed, and had to get back into my rotation, which was a significant dps loss.
WWS ->
Here.
Oh and Yes, I did die before the boss appeared on Gothik, hence why im no where on the chart ;)
