The new tree means strength and stam>spell power and int. Throw in Spiritual attunement glyph and blessing of sanctitiy, and you never go oom.
Our main talents are improved with weapon damage and shield block value now. Not spell power. Conc still needs spell power, but check your tree. We now have a nifty talent that improves spell power with stamina.

Our Seal/judgement/HS/AS still uses SP, but AP in all cases is superior.
On Conc, even though the ratio is equal, AP is easier to stack.
Ahhhh, ok. But would it still be benefical to go after Spellpower+ items, or concentrate more on Stamina?
Stamina and Strength.

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Uh Huh.
Some people keep a spell damage weapon around for large mob tanking, but I don't even bother.

Which would be fantastic because you want to be using a slow weapon for Hammer of the Righteous.
It has been said before, but here it goes. Weapon speed does not matter for HotR. It is based on the DPS of the weapon. A 140 DPS 1.6s weapon will put out the same numbers for HotR as a 140 DPS 3.6s weapon.

The other thing is that I read on EJ that they changed parry to be like a boss parry, not sure if its actually true, but it said that when a player parries it reduces their swing timer on there next swing. Which would be fantastic because you want to be using a slow weapon for Hammer of the Righteous.
Weapon speed is irrelevant for HotR. As well, I think parry has always decreased the time of your next swing.

Yes, parry has always decreased the swing timer, I think reado was trying to say that it's good because you'll get less parry jibs with a slower weapon.

It would considering that AP stacks better and all our abilities excluding ret aura which uses SP.

its better to go spell power tank until you are high enough to use your talent points in the talent that increases your spell power by 30% of your stamina.
No, it isn't. Strength is always superior to spell power for a tankadin.
Until then, int and sp wouldnt be horrible choices in gear.
Int is always a horrible choice in gear for a tankadin unless he's playing emergency healer. Spell power is extremely situational.
Other thing about a slower weapon is for some seals you want a slow weapon cause it increases the damage done by the seal, more specifically Seal of Righteousness
No, it doesn't. SoR is normalized and does the same overall damage regardless of weapon speed.

Uh, speed still doesn't matter. I prefer a faster weapon if anything. IMO, you do more damage, and more threat with a faster weapon as you can tab/stack vengeance quickly, but I guess it's just preference.
IF ANYTHING, you really want to bump your initial threat (which IMO is pointless since you burst 10k easily with crappy gear on the initial attack with HotR, SoR, Judgement, and lets not forget AS that is always used at the start of a pull) you want to use SoB(M) to do your initial judge. That is the biggest judgement, but it will cost you some HP.
BUT, IMO, it's still worthless. 10-15k burst threat is MORE than enough to stave off accidental pulls on the main target. And that's just in heroic dungeons with my crappy tanking gear.

Really? I don't think I'd even bother. does anybody actually put this into practice?

I did pre-3.0.2 when judging still cost our seal, though the reason was one of mechanics (SoB judgements couldn't miss) rather than for the slight increase in threat I received.

No one that I know of puts it into practice because it's not necessary, but it will be a much bigger judge than a 0 stack vengeance judgement. No one that I know of uses SotR anymore either....
I forgot to mention... Keep in mind, SoB is AP based. SotR is spell power based. This being why it's bigger, on top of better scaling reguardless. SotR took a big nerf in 3.0.
